You may have been able to score more damage, if your target had more HP.
The game stops scoring counts when the target is sunk.

Yeah, I know. That being said, I've played games that don't. In one, if you deal 105 damage to a 1hp target, it will record the whole 105 for the XP calculation.

Aren't there some drops in the Arms Race mode that give/restore hitpoints?  If so, it could be a desync issue.

No, what I'm talking about is non-WOWS games which credit you with the full weight of the hit you deliver, even if the target doesn't have enough HP to absorb it and survive. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
