Premium Ship Review: ARP Yamato

The following is a review of ARP Yamato, the tier X Japanese battleship.  This ship was kindly provided to me by Wargaming for review purposes.  I did not have to pay for her.  To the best of my knowledge, the performance statistics discussed in this review are current as of patch 0.9.10.1.  Please be aware that they may change in the future.

Seriously, do I need to elaborate more than that?  You're paying between 29k and 60k doubloons for her.  Granted, at the top price you're also getting an Atago, a Musashi skin (which you may not be able to use if you don't have her) and skipping the grind on the Yamato legendary upgrade.  If you turn off the Arpeggio of Blue Steel crossover, you're getting a reward-ship version of Yamato with premium camouflage.  She's a great ship.  Just be aware that WG is directly selling a tier X tech-tree clone with improved economy and a funky German-Disco skin.

I may be in the minority, but I enjoy the ARP Yamato and the bundled ARP Maya, and Commanders ARP Yamato, ARP Musashi, ARP Maya and the permanent camouflage for the ship Musashi that is waiting in my inventory for the actual ship to arrive.

~I like the Arpeggio of Blue Steel artwork.
~I like the ARP Commander's voices.
~I like that the bundled version of the ARP Yamato arrived with the accuracy upgrade module (which improves main-gun dispersion with a trade-off of slower turret traverse).
~I liked the ARP Takao enough to welcome all of her "sister ships", including the Atago, the Atago-B and the ARP Maya.

Does this put me in the category of "weeb fan-wolf" more than being strictly technical ship analysis guru?  Probably.  🙂 
I have no regrets about it, though.  🙂
