Thankfully unlike the red/green lights in the update article, the event details are laid out in clear and plain language (just click buttons and complete missions). Unfortunately there is no way to access in the game interface itself.

Compare with last year's event: https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/sales-and-events/treasure-hunt/

Unfortunately I did not have the drop rates from last year recorded.

  • No more cash/physical/outside partner rewards
  • No more researchable tier 4 ships (good change)
  • All other rewards including premium ships are the same
  • Of note, the chances of dropping premium time or doubloons are actually higher than Supercontainers. Just shows how bad the SC nerf was.

Yes ... they have spelled it out clearly.

I'm not going to bother with the event though, given some of the tasks:

DailyTask.thumb.jpg.d613bfa2c425a97c020e6776dc5cb703.jpg

Invite a player? No thanks

WeeklyTask.thumb.jpg.5cc507f68e6d9a569f1ee9458c7b6f0e.jpg

Watch a livestream? No - I have other things to do.

How is a new player going to play a tier 6 battle?  The grind will take weeks to get that ship to play.

Hey Sunk, check out the tab for the Weekly Tasks. They are fairly easy to complete, and the rewards aren't bad.

I just concentrated on getting the festive reward pinkie points. A lot of the treasure hunt stuff came along for free.

Fair enough. I bit the bullet and signed up ... and the weekly tasks are reasonable.

The daily tasks reek though ... 'Invite friends to World of Warships' (and make them grind to Tier VI), and 'Purchase a special bundle in a Premium Shop' ... that's got the smell of desperation to my mind.

those I just ignore. But I'm happy for the other stuff. 40,000 commander XP, some flags, some eco bonuses.

There are a few premium ships available, if they're willing to pay for them.

I had to laugh.  So, I'm trying to get my neighbor interested to play a game that takes a long time to learn to play well but 'It's free to play' however, they have to cough up some dough so I can get some reward.  I'm baffled.

Well.  That's a "horse of a different color".  🙂

These days you can probably get a t-6 tech tree ship in 2-3 weeks.  As far as "playing well" that is more a function of willingness to get better than time.  There are plenty of players out there with years of playing time but lack the skill level of some dedicated players with only 6 months of experience.

In-game tasks (almost like combat missions):

First, win 5 battles (coop, easy)

Weekly tasks (all ship types and modes allowed):

  • 400 K damage
  • 700 ribbons (so light cruiser or gunboat DD, easy)
  • 12,000 XP (NOT base XP, so boosters will help)
  • 20 fire ribbons
  • 17 captures/assisted in captures (this is the bottleneck)

There are also some non-battle tasks:

  • WoWs quiz - some naval history, some "do you know what the DCP symbol is?"
  • Spend 3 million credits (buy signals or ships)
  • Earn and spend 500 anniversary tokens (so 3 Tier 10 ships for 3 supercontainers)

As far as the daily tasks (recruitment/purchase), I am with you all - don't even bother. We all know WG is desperate for new players to milk for cash.

We had a "posse" of 10 year olds,  two years ago,  invade the game locally....  One was playing his grandfather's old account and the others were F2P'ing it....  Three weeks and then the grandparents got involved with a credit card it seems.  They lasted about three weeks after I contacted the one player using his GP's account and "she" answered that Gramps was helping her play......   They simply got bored and haven't been back.  I know,  because my grandson was the ring leader.....  His parents were not at all thrilled when they found out he was in an ESRB-T rated game (on his own and unsupervised) AND, they found the Forum and strolled around reading it......  He was uninstalled the next day.

Older players I "followed to this game" - since,  I did not want to play any of the WG games - are all gone.  I stay to use this game as a data point.

This game eats it's own.  Young players are simply food.

Update for Week 2 tasks

Same as last week:

  • 400 K damage
  • 700 ribbons
  • 12,000 XP (NOT base XP, so boosters will help)
  • 20 fire ribbons
  • 17 captures/assisted in captures/defends
  • Spend 3 million credits (buy ships or signals)

New tasks:

  • Win 10 battles (any ship class, easy in co-op)
  • Play 10 battles in Spanish ships (super easy, do not even need to win)
  • Earn and spend 10 progress tokens
  • Not going to link my phone number to WG.

By the way, the article is wrong: https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/sales-and-events/treasure-hunt-2023/

There are more than 12 treasure hunt tokens available to earn in the weekly tasks. WG communication failure as usual.

Does anybody knows when will WG hands out the reward for 18th mission: Win 10 battles

Should have done it already but I am not getting any out of it...

Earn and spend 10 Progress Tokens is kind of bugged as I redeemed a air supply container last week. Now I am waiting for the server mission to complete so I can hopefully collect the token.

Indeed.

I actually laughed when I saw that ... I haven't even given WG my real email address, much less something like that.

Thanks for posting NMA101.   I totally forgot you had to go click on the spinning thing to get your prizes. I appreciate the reminder!

Good catch.

No disrespect, but Wargaming can shove that requirement.

Final week tasks:

Same as before (just 6 this round, not 9):

  • 400 K damage
  • 700 ribbons
  • 12,000 XP (NOT base XP, so boosters will help)
  • 20 fire ribbons
  • 17 captures/assisted in captures/defends
  • Spend 3 million credits (buy ships or signals)

Overall through this event, I received the following "good" rewards:

  • 250 db + 500 db
  • 3x 2000 coal
  • 3x rare bonuses containers

The rest was credits, FXP, or the useless grey boosters (to be converted into credits)
