Missing 12.7 content

If you take a look at the patch notes for 12.7 you'll notice two pieces that were never released on EU/NA/ASIA:

https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-127-lushun-at-the-dockyard/#content-additions-and-changes

-Commander Fyodor Ushakov with individual voiceover

-Flags Premium container

Ushakov was already released on RU for free with a flag. Flag boxes are MIA.

I don't know why, but it feels like WG is slipping more and more. Announcing RU content elsewhere. Not bothering to do a copy/paste of RU balancing.

It feels off.

What... does that mean? We didn't get the actual 12.7?

Nope, RU got the captain and flag as a mission. The flag box is MIA.

So... in other words, RU gets content, we get cut content. Do we actually get something worth noting that RU isn't getting? Or are we just being 'spoiled' as always....

Almost all collaboration deals with partners outside Russia and Belarus (all anime stuff, Megadeth, environmental charity, etc) from mid-2022. RU substitutes the Arpeggio of Blue Steel collab for a collab with the Mosfilm studio and a classic Soviet comedy from 1967.

8th Anniversary items partly drawing inspiration from retro-futurism and steamwave art style like Back to the Future. Substituted in RU with an Atomic Heart collab.

Being able to exchange an unlimited number of "Epochal" permanent camouflage for coal.

So there is some substitution then, but it seems when it comes to commanders there isn't as such, though, or am I wrong?

Perhaps there do not exist a clear-cut correspondence between Global and RU contents. However it is observed that RU management is more generous.

No kidding. And we are stuck with uncle Scrooge.

In Chinese communities, veteran players have been seriously suggesting newcomers to play Mir Korabli (former WoWS RU) rather than "Global" WoWS and seek help from online vendors to purchase premium contents on behalf for individual players (a primary obstacle of RU is that only Russian payment method is supported after being converted into a Russian-Belorussian exclusive realm).

And premium contents there are much cheaper than at least Asia, maybe on par with already well known cases of "loophole" regions like Turkey, India and Argentina.

You think, could we sneak in somehow too? 😜

AFAIK India pays full price now too. The WoWS India project died long time ago.

In short, RU gets more exclusive free stuff, we get more overpriced RNG paid content.

A certain proportion of the playerbase has been so vocal in its negative sentiment to the former USSR for so long ("Bussian Rias", so to speak) that it feels like Karma.

Not necessarily free though, yet we do pay more for worse.

Besides that, currently even balance adjustment is being handled differently. Global servers received none of the RU's proposed fixes on some old underperforming ships.

That's something we need to keep tabs on, the secondaries 'adjustment' was initiated on RU. Of course, it's entirely possible we will only get the nerfs and none of the buffs they get too.

The corporate split of the game was eventually going to lead to stuff like this.

Companies that are willing to sign deals with the EU/NA/ASIA company may be unwilling/unable to sign collaboration deals with russian company for "reasons".
And vice-versa.

The BP for RU just dropped and it completely different than EU/NA/ASIA. RU gets stuff from the Atomic Hearts collab, but misses out on Dupleix as the final reward.

The Russian server has always been treated 'better' dating back to World of Tanks. Additionally, Russian bias was a real thing in Tanks as well.

What surprised everyone is that as the publisher, Wargaming leased the game to its own developer, Lesta Studio, rather than keeping the development staff and leave a briefcase company dedicated to running the game in Russia and Belarus behind. Perhaps the primary development staff, based in St. Petersburg, refuses to move abroad and are very willing to continue working on their own masterpiece (and judging from things like they developed an exclusive premium flamethrowing tank for WoT RU, it is possible that a number of former WG staff from Minsk has also joined them).

It is alleged that WG's current Belgrade studio is nascent and won't become efficient until early 2024. For reference, RU development blog mentioned none of the recent copy-pastes.

I have been thinking about the possibility of setting an account in RU. To see how the situation is there, and prepare a "backup" for myself had WG make the global servers unbearable due to excessive monetization and/or inability to develop the game by doing adjustments and providing new contents (), even if only playing Tier V ships like Podvoisky, Emile Bertin, Raimondo Montecuccoli and Derfflinger.

This has been covered before in a few instances:

Gascogne for 128000 coal.

Steel is offered as login reward.

Perhaps it's worse in Asia. We pay even slightly more, and have to deal with an infamous meta of long range and CV spotting.

And subs having a very high popularity among highly skilled players.
