Admiral_Karasu Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Now, only just spotted this so no idea what he will say, but it looks interesting and just a couple of seconds into his video I spotted something very interesting in the bottom right hand corner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsmoNP85Kno 2
Slammer58 Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 (edited) fyi: one of the developers (The_Admiral) posts fairly regularly over on the Grogheads.com forums. There are some other gameplay demo videos (non-iChase) posted mid_August (see posts starting at #676). Looking forward to this game when it finally gets released. https://www.grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=23950.675 Edited September 10, 2023 by Slammer58
Wolfswetpaws Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Bit of a "yawner" from what I can tell. https://www.microprose.com/games/task-force-admiral https://store.steampowered.com/app/1281220/Task_Force_Admiral__Vol1_American_Carrier_Battles/
Slammer58 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) Finally some news about TFA. A demo is coming in 1Q 2025 along with a Kickstarter. TFA is going nostalgic by offering the old-style big box experience that us old-timers remember from the early Microprose releases. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1281220?emclan=103582791467211203&emgid=4470479417177538593 Edited November 13, 2024 by Slammer58 1

Like their older "Red Storm Rising" title, it appears that Microprose is still fond of "cut scenes" or what looks like "stock footage" and combining it with music. Interesting and nostalgic for a short while. Somewhat immersive. But, eventually repetitive enough to become boring and something to be skipped. The actual game interface seemed to be a "god's eye view" of the task-force's ships on a large map, with planes depicted as well. I'm not sure, yet, if this will offer diverse variety of gameplay options, or will simply offer a finite number of scenarios with a finite number of likely outcomes. I suppose much will depend upon how "scripted" the game is?
