Kaspersky AV is now Banned in the US

Recommended Posts

Here you go as reported in Newsmax:  https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/antivirus-russia/2024/06/20/id/1169561/

This isn't the first time Kaspersky has been banned from the US market.

I'm posting this because there has been a debate over the years, on many game forums,  if a Country can ban gaming software......

The answer in the US has always been:   yes....  In fact, the POTUS can, all by him/her/they/their selve(s) unilaterally ban any imported product.......since, trade decisions reside in the Executive Branch of the US government....

Food for thought.

I posted this for whom use KAV !    Who knows what the future holds for Video Games...  AI is going, on it's own, wreck markets and laws in all sorts of ways no one will see coming....  Some of the AI models show........."disruptive innovative" tendencies.  It is an amazing place to be right now, from an innovation standpoint....  Cause, once we turn this tech loose, there is no way to predict what "that actually means"....let alone AI will actually do at the cultural level....  Will it create an adaptive friction wave or will it subtlety infect the cultures so slowly no one will notice....???   Most of us that are in the Innovation realm don't see a destructive change (like the flash drive and HP's implosion.....)

But, change we will.

Fingers crossed POTUS is a WoWS player.

There is no need to use any anti-malware other than that which comes with Windows. For a deeper periodic scan you can use the free versions of ESET or Malwarebytes. Or, you can just use the offline Windows malware scan option.

He cannot eat anything more solid than pudding and ice cream, and is in bed by 1800. He is just a figure head. He controls nothing right now. There are other people in control.

Here is to hoping America make the right decision in a few months.

We don't actually want to go there in terms of this forum.
