Utt_Bugglier
Just seems like with its accuracy, and the range module upgrade, that hijinks and guffaws could be had by divisioning up a pair of Wisconsins with a T10 CV. Def AA ensures any reprisals from the red CV will be difficult, unlike for Musashis in the classic 8-9-9 div.
MidnightPhoenix07
Wisconsin has the accuracy to hit them and the AA to deter strikes, but it’s still not going to work the same way an 899 does. Part of the strength of the 899 division is forcing a Tier VIII carrier on the enemy team, and all of them are either partially or completely overmatchable through the deck. Musashi has the range to reach them in spawn with spotter planes, and the accuracy to hit. But the key is being able to overmatch the deck so you’re going to deal damage (and probably citadel or even nuke) without having to worry about bounces. And then once you kill the carrier, you’re a pair of Musashi’s with air support but you don’t have to worry about your own weak AA. With the exception of Essex, no Tier X carrier deck can be overmatched by any battleship (and Wisconsin can’t overmatch Essex, you’d need 431s or higher for that). You’ll have a good chance of hitting them in spawn if you have the range, but you’ll just bounce most/all of your shells off the deck.

Yyesss, but 8-10-10 divisions are not possible, thus the question. Your evaluation that most shells will bounce off the enemy CV flight deck has its only chance of being true if the CV elects to remain bow-in. 55 minutes ago, MidnightPhoenix07 said: And then once you kill the carrier, you’re a pair of Musashi’s with air support but you don’t have to worry about your own weak AA. Hybrid BBs and cruisers with air strikes suggest the Musashis will still have that problem with some frequency.
Kynami
Its absolutely fun just annoying the heck out of a Musashi with a Chikuma II. Between 15km torpedo racks and the ability to just reach out and double drop aerial torps on their broadside where either they just take it or potentially have to worry that you cross dropped with your far more dangerous ship based ones you can practically hear the teeth grinding in the background.
