I wanted to bow tank...

The last time I played on this map on a Tier X ship was with the Salem, and it was all about hugging an island and using it as armor. It was a fun way of staying hidden while firing incessantly at the red team. 

After I played Moskva in Asymmetric I brought her out to Random Battles. It was the same map—Trident—but it kind of left me with a few options on where to go and what to do after battle starts. I decided to bow tank, with Moskva's icebreaker bow in mind. 

It worked. I'd like to think all those salvoes thrown at my position were salvoes that could have been aimed at the rest of the team. Our Stalingrad (who spawned on the opposite side of the map) cleaned the house with 6 kills and 3003 Base XP. I had zero kills, and the red Nevsky finished my ship, but I was pleasantly surprised to get 2032 Base XP at 2nd place.

No submarine and with 10 plane kills I’m guessing the CV didn’t try too hard to dislodge you. Either of those (especially the former) would have made such a strategy much more difficult.

Yes, whenever I play submarine i get a evil grin when I see a cruiser of BB trying to bow tank at an island ....... also in my Legendary mod Golden Leeuw.

I see you set your ship to full reverse.

I noticed that the bots in aysemetrical have all of the aiming bugs we have complained about over the last few years.    From first shell fireing at a completely different location as to where it fires all the rest of the shells (like the quick zoom in fire bug)  to shells falling short.   If you reverse, watch how many shells fall short.   It's constant.      The aiming of these bots are way worse than the operations bots.

Of course it will be a totally different strategy should there be a submarine or CV or both. That goes without saying. 

And if there is a Dutch cruiser, it'll also be taken into consideration.

Agree. I tried to defend the flank for as long as I could, and it could have been even better if the other 7 ships in our team spread out. I was all alone there after our Mecklenburg succumbed to the red Jinan's torpedoes and HE around the 10:22 mark. The rest of the team was on the other side of the map. So much for trying to be the anvil while the rest of the team took their own sweet time to perform the role of the hammer. LOL
