Kidd (U.S.A Destroyer) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_C._Kidd https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidd-class_destroyer Isaac Campbell Kidd (March 26, 1884 – December 7, 1941) was a rear admiral in the United States Navy. He was the father of Admiral Isaac C. Kidd Jr. Kidd was killed on the bridge of USS Arizona during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The highest ranking casualty at Pearl Harbor, he became the first U.S. Navy flag officer killed in action in World War II as well as the first killed in action against any foreign enemy. He was a posthumous recipient of his nation's highest military honor—the Medal of Honor. A Fletcher-class destroyer, Kidd (DD-661), was commissioned in his honor on April 23, 1943. The second ship named after him, Kidd (DDG-993), lead ship of four Kidd-class destroyers, was commissioned on March 27, 1981. An Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, Kidd (DDG-100), was the third ship named after him and was commissioned on June 9, 2007.[1] Edited April 5, 2024 by kriegerfaust 1 1
Navalpride33 Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I think for celebrating women and women empowerment... Capt Kate Mccue, Captain of the Celebrity Beyond cruise ship. Any sailor/passenger who sails under her watch, knows there's nothing to worry about. See has everything under wraps. Best Female Captain out there on the seas atm IMO. 2
Kruzenstern Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Tōgō Heihachirō I mean, we have Mikasa. So we should also have Togo! 2

Verblonde Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) How about Philip Vian (unless he's in already, and I missed it): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Vian In charge during the last - so far - occasion where RN folk used cutlasses (although I gather this may be apocryphal)... Unlooky Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Excluding already named figures: Jellicoe, Scheer, and Hipper Gunichi Mikawa, Takeo Kurita, and Arleigh Burke. For the hell of it, Admirals Nelson and Yi Sun-Sin I think you could make all of these figures interesting captains with unique talents and skills. 1

Well the topic title wasn't time-period specific. 🙂 Quote What real life officer/s would you like to see made into a playable commander/s I will concede that the difficulty involves getting her permission and the likely legal issues which surround her current active duty obligations. That said, I think she'd make a fine in-game Commander. 🙂 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryoko_Azuma 1
Admiral_Karasu Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 @Verblonde Ah... you mean the Altmark incident. We touched on that briefly in our club house talks. 1
Admiral_Karasu Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Well.. there's no shortage of historical captains or admirals. In another thread I already named one, Tamon Yamaguchi (played by Susumu Fujita in Tora! Tora! Tora!).
