You can basiclly get it every time. Leave wows discord , then just accept in news section again, and you get award container every time.

Not amazing, but a small gift, good for new players.

I didnt also, until I tried it yesterday and it poped out reward again 😄

Full disclosure, I know almost nothing about discord.   Question...does one have to be an active participant on discord to acquire the freebies?

I got the crate this morning by the un- and re- sub method described by OP, and had not posted to the discord in many months. I think you're good.
