iDuckman Posted March 27 Posted March 27 <hmmm> Very subtle topic title. Btw, CV players should be thanked for drawing attention away from the rest of the team. Does that happen? Nooo... 1 1 1

MidnightPhoenix07 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Some players actually seem to know what they’re doing, but a lot I’ve already seen don’t. Of course there are the players that completely ignore the enemy and just shoot the pinata while they get killed, but I’ve also experienced at least one team that thinks it’s just randoms and doesn’t even attempt to get close to anything. Shoot at the pinata from a distance, completely ignore the buff drops…. I want to like the mode, and I think the concept can definitely be fun. But the teams are just as frustrating as randoms.
Nevermore135 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Also remember that these types of special modes don’t affect a player’s stats. There are probably more than a few players that are power-grinding through tier VIII and IX ships without too much care for their performance. 1 1

Because if you're so smart, you can lead by example and provide us with a college-level course of instruction, right? 🙂

I played a game earlier today wherein more than one player mentioned in all-chat that they were trying this mode for the first time and had no clue how to play it. I figure it takes time for people to discover through trial-&-error how to win this mode. And then it may help if they tell two friends, and those two tell two friends, and so on and so on .... 2 1

The game really has some brain dead people in it. in most cases with operations/pinyata hunt/convoy escort and airship escort players forget the objective of the scenario and tend to go in harms way to get the kill and not realising its not for themselves but to help the team secure a victory . most cases there is no team play but every man for there own purpose and this is usually why rank and randoms has a lot of whales playing
Guest Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) is it really worth playing the pinyata event after seeing how poor the rewards are . i mean apart from the flag the camo has been avaliable in the exterior tab for a few weeks now and the patch is old school so is it really worth it if thats all the rewards being offered Edited March 28 by Gaelic_knight
UnderTheRadarAgain Posted March 28 Posted March 28 The post game rewards are the same as random battles - so why not play it. A perfect mode to grind your T9 ships. Even your T8 ships if operations mode isn't your thing. At least those permanent camos can be earned by just playing the game - no need to spend 9 million credits or 750 doubloons to get them. The black one looks good on any ship.
Navalpride33 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I think that... Going for the Pinata first really does help win the match.. I played it today and well I had a blast... The confetti gets me every time. I do understand, if I dont want to play Pinata... You can buy the Camos for credit. (I think its 9 mil for one I maybe wrong). Must players' take the wrong ship into battle.. Maybe, in that regard.. The players' need educating. What I like about the mode... I forces everyone to come to the center of the map and closer to each other. I've lost track how many ships i've rammed. For me, ramming the hack out of a BB and making him mad... Is the best entertainment in the game IMHO. 😅

The game really has some brain dead people in it. Perhaps they just wanted to play unhindered by rules or expectations. The mode has been fun (for me, at least), though there can be plenty of things going on for the casual player to reasonably take into consideration. The worst thing I've seen so far has been our CV ramming the piñata Essex. That was absolutely hilarious and stupid at the same time. This happened during the second time I played the mode, and it made me think perhaps not a few have not or did not bother to read the temporary mode's mechanics. I eventually destroyed the Essex, but we ultimately lost because the same lack of crossfire that plague Random Battles can also appear here. The only consolation is that stats are not recorded, I think; which is a double-edged sword because it can push players to just be reckless about it. I think WG is using this as a testing ground for mechanics and support consumables. Me, I just want to use this to finish the grind to Worcester and get the Research Points. 2

It brings out all the shitters who only play co op/ranked because "randoms are so stupid" without realizing they are part of the problem. Being a < tier 10 mode makes the problem even worse. 2 1

Assymetric grinds out T8s & 9s just as well, with slightly better rewards than coop, and yes, players generally wouldn't have concern for their stats. Besides, these special events tend to be novelties and occasionally pilot new concepts such as the Duck hottub event, leading to minefields. 1
Verytis Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) This game mode is a case of WG trolling at best, or running a cognition test on the playerbase at worst. There's a red pinata and it drops buffs. The mode itself is called "Pinata Hunt" But the main objective is to kill the opponents. The pinata itself will just self-destruct with no consequence if you let it reach the end. This should be obvious within a few matches really, if the players took a moment to examine the win conditions. Edited March 30 by Verytis 1

Guest Posted March 30 Posted March 30 not to worry theres still ASYMMETRICS comming soon (( woopee )) oh and another long drawn out BORING dockyard (my que to not log into the game much while dockyard is running )
Aethervox Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) ...which is why I 'giga-avoid' these 'special' Wedgie 😒 modes. Edited March 30 by Aethervox
Wolfswetpaws Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Took me several games and a read-through of the published information (from WOWs main web-page) to realize the Pinata has between 380k to over 420k of HP. I'm guessing the exact amount depends upon the ships in the teams?
Andrewbassg Posted March 30 Posted March 30 "Pinata players are ....." Oh......just try t6 brawls..... You have newcomers and Wedgie's so called skill based Mm ofc doesn't worth a spit. The amount of braindead handily exceeds the Last of Us....... 2

PvP stopped being even barely fun for me about the time Ranked changed. (Also when I reached exactly 10,000 PvP games.) Won't touch it for anything. Asym held me for one season, (the first one.) Haven't played it since. Edited April 4 by Estimated_Prophet
