Ensign Cthulhu Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) They're destroyers. From the article on the Premuda: While they would be considered a destroyer in any other navy, the German Navy nevertheless retained the "torpedo boat" classification for these ships (although they, along with the B97s and G101s were often called destroyers). Project45_Opytny Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Types 23 and 24 torpedo boats are incremental development of late World War I German "mobilization" destroyer designs. Tier 3 likely. Type 39 "Elbing" class torpedo boat is already featured in game as V T-22 and late war German high seas torpedo boats seem to lack a unique niche: not different enough from T-22 yet still too weak for Tier VI. Type 40 class is represented as VI T-61. The Type 1916 destroyer as stated above is largely a German nomenclature oddity and it's a curiousity that why they aren't represented in the German gunboat destroyer branch. 1
Wrath_of_Deadguy Posted March 18 Posted March 18 "Torpedo Boat" 2000+ ton displacement 4x150mm main battery ...suuuure, Germany. We believe you. 4
invicta2012 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) There are a fair few WW1 large DD types which could be in the game, even at higher tiers (Jager is a good example). Low displacement can mean insufficient health for comfortable game play, as well as a period lack of AA. I agree that most of the ones being listed are already there in some firm or other, but there's always room for some 'what if?' upgrades. Edited March 18 by invicta2012 1
