Maybe i am wrong but Japan seems to have far more heavies than light cruisers.  Also more ships, more daka more blood for the blood god, Any ship you would like to see in the game feel free to post below.  Make your feelings heard, would also love to see the porter even if it is just another Somers class which is a beast.

Without knowing any better, I'd say that this is because as the Washington Naval Treaty limitations were dropped, the guns on many 'light' cruisers got upgraded with heavy cruiser caliber gun.

Well i meant in the game and real life, if so than add the light cruiser versions that were up-gunned into heavies in real life. More ships is always better unless they are perfect clones.   Still for somebody who hates seeing light cruiser HE spam i would always like to see more ships.

You mean more ships in the game is better? Because in real life more ships with heavier guns is usually better. Generally, in game too, I would under most situations prefer a heavy cruiser, although something tells me that some people use the light cruisers to rack up more damage...

Japan invested heavily into heavy cruisers during the inter-war years, and said ships featured heavily in their naval doctrine. CLs, in contrast, were relegated primarily to flagship roles as destroyer squadron leaders (Ooyodo was designed as a submarine squadron leader). The only light cruisers built during this period were the Mogamis (Agano was laid down in 1940) and those ships don’t really count as they were always intended to serve as heavy cruisers once Japan ducked out of the Treaty system. At the start of WWII all the Japanese light cruisers in active service were 1910s- and 1920s-era ships that were quite long in the tooth and largely obsolete in frontline combat roles.
