In-game patches/emblems/symbols seem to have been changed somewhat.

Tonight I noticed an indication that a new item was available for use as a patch/symbol.  So I clicked to "modify".

Well, to my disappointment, the "backgrounds" can no longer be used with the "patches".

The organizing of the patches/emblems/symbols/backgrounds has been changed and sorted into categories, too.



Frankly I'm a bit disappointed.
Before tonight, I had a blue background with a gold edge behind the screen-shot-ed patch you see in the enclosed image.
That option of combination was taken away with these changes.

Backgrounds and edges can be used with other categories of symbols and emblems, but not with certain "patches".

Log-in and you'll see.
Or, if you're happy with what you already have, don't make changes.
Though, to be honest, I'm not sure that avoiding making a change will actually prevent the system from making changes on its own.

My clan commander was not too happy to find this out either. She promptly put a ticket in. I haven't heard about any responses from WG yet.

As I understand it, there's three types now. Emblems, patches, and then the background patches plus selected symbols.

I have not given it much attention ever since it was launched, but I like how the default background has been changed to all black. I've been wishing for that change ever since the Alaska B was first offered a few years ago.
