Which ship (or ships) do you hate or find most useless?

There is no shortage of nasty ships in World of Warships.

The one I hate the most is Sun Yat-sen, it has very bad dispersion and very low damage (whether it's main or secondary guns, or even AA guns)

With the advent of the Japanese battlecruiser line, I have no doubt that Sun Yat-sen was actually born to test the Japanese battlecruiser line (or to harvest those patriot money from China)

It doesn't even have a scout/fighter plane. Hopefully when the Japanese battlecruisers are implemented they can assign their special scout planes to the Sun Yat-sen

I swear to god that I hate Iowa so much. IDK if it's me or something, but I think that she has terrible dispersion, and low alpha, arcs. It also receives a lot of citadel dmg.

 

But at the same time, I can't stop playing her, I want to make her work.

Marco Polo is terribad.

Jury is still out on the new T10. I have it and while better than the tech tree ships by a lot I am a bit disappointed in the guns. Either RNG is having a laugh at my expense, or they are super troly.

I don't understand why the Vanguard with advanced fire control has worse dispersion than the Iowa class, that's absurd and unrealistic.Her new 381 shells are not even as good as the old French 381 shells.1160<1190 lol

Chumphon. There's a reason the word chump is in the name. Really floaty shells, snail-paced torps, and very fragile. I love cruisers but can't stand the Pan-Asian cruiser line. Hope it gets better at T8 and above.

Italian BBs: These ships pay way too much for BB-caliber SAP. IMO, the entire line past tier VI is an exercise in frustration, and this is coming from someone who enjoys playing Roma. WG even had to change a fundamental game mechanic (ammo switching) just to give these ships a special buff to make them more viable. There is a long-running joke that the tech tree Italian BBs were forced to pay a “GC tax,” and it’s not hard to see why. The line is so poorly designed that WoWs Legends implemented the ships completely differently, featuring HE and AP main battery shells and SAP secondaries. I would have abandoned the grind at tier IX if Airship Escort wasn’t running at the time to facilitate power-grinding through Lepanto.

Japanese CLs: This line doesn’t really have a good reason to exist, even if we ignore the fact that the high tier IJN gunboats already behave in many ways like DD-CL hybrids. The large number of guns on these ships are offset by a long reload and the fact that the higher tier ships mount 150mm vs. 155mm (which have the all-important extra mm of HE penetration) is a shame. They were also the second “torpedo-focused” cruiser line release in a row, following the Pan-Asian line which arguably does this playstyle better. To add insult to injury, the more historically appropriate and unique choice for a second IJN cruiser line were aviation (hybrid) cruisers, and WG followed the line up with the game’s first tech tree hybrids: another US BB split.

Dutch cruisers: IMO, every ship in the line, except maybe GL, gives up too much for the airstrike gimmick. At higher tiers, Haarlem and JdW suffer the main weaknesses of CBs (dispersion inferior to other cruisers and 60s burn times) without getting the BB-caliber (283mm+) guns found on other ships of the type. GL is quite nice (I’ve played her on PTS), and is the only reason I am suffering through this grind at the moment. Hopefully I’ll finish JdW while Concealed Maneuvers is still available. The devs finally relenting and giving the ships ASW armament was a good thing, but the fact that it is depth charges rather than depth charge airstrikes (which are found on D7P) was a slap in the face.

I actively hate seeing a GC on the enemy team.

It's like seeing a Flint prior to the CV rework...you know its someone that is good, piloting a brutally overpowered ship.

You could surprise people a lot in the Silliwangi...not many realised it was a Loyang in sheeps clothing....either that or people were just laughing too hard at the idiot who took a boat with such a stupid name into battle.

I have both, and FWIW I'd rate Siliwangi as basically a worse Lo Yang; the exception to that is in the role of torp truck, which the former is better at IMO. In terms of exercising influence on a battle by means of doing the traditional DD jobs, I found Lo Yang to be noticeably better.

There are definitely ships that are weaker than other ships of their type at the same tier. 

That said, every one of the tech tree ships I though were the MOST awful early in my game experience turned out to be pretty good after another couple thousand games and a 5% rise in my WR.

For me,the Queen Elisabeth always seems to spawn on the flank the lemming train is running away from.  It's always a long, drawn out futile death.
