I_cant_Swim_ Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Folks, fellow forumites. @HogHammer reports that links to many imgur-hosted images appear broken. They are not really broken as you can click on them to see the image, but the embedding appears not to work. @Admiral_Karasu found that Imgur has a tool they want you to use, the Embed tool, to properly embed your images. You may need to do this for your images hosted here. Please note, as reported by Admiral_Karasu, that hotlinking to imgur libraries is not permitted. Please be sure you follow the rules set by your hosting platform, as you are responsible for your links and images. This is the link for embed info reported by Admiral_Karasu: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003264766-FAQ-for-Forum-Users- We are not sure if this is the solution - it may also be our hosting server that has s general problem. If you use a different hosting platform for your images, please report back on whether your embeds work or not. Thanks. 2
Admiral_Karasu Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Here is the imgur ToS: https://imgur.com/tos Quote don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it. As for embedding, apparently Invision uses oembed endpoints which imgue embed feature does not work with. 1
I_cant_Swim_ Posted November 24, 2023 Author Posted November 24, 2023 Update: Support admins from our hosting platform said the problem is likely at Imgur. If so, the image links should soon be restored. However, please do verify, if you have embedded media, that the links are in accordance with whichever hosting platform so you are using, and adjust as necessary. 1
