The question is after the United States what do you call the rest of the line Asia, Europe, Africa, South America

I would have named them after NT ranges Cascadia, Appalachian, Sierra, Allegheny, Sacramento

Or the great lakes Superior, Huron, Michigan, Ontario, Erie

Or maybe even places of myth Albion, Hyperborea, Atlantis, Lemuria, Shangri-La

I would have named them after Presidents as follows...

  • USS United States
  • USS George Washington (later used for the Carrier CVN-73)
  • USS Thomas Jefferson (later used for the Sub SSBN-618)
  • USS Abraham Lincoln (later used for the Carrier CVN-72)
  • USS Andrew Jackson (later used for the Sub SSBN-619 - this one can be up for debate but I picked him due to what he did in the war of 1812)

I think having sister ships of a class named for the country named after some of our most important Presidents makes a lot of sense.
