Interesting Choice Of Ports For A Dutch Theme Event ?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Just logged in this morning finally and was surprised that the Port of call for the Dutch cruiser line release was The Philippines ?

WG must losing it or something maybe they couldn't be bothered setting the default for Rotterdam or !!!!! is this a sign of dark tidings for this line, meaning is the line a DUD !

My personal view would have been if they happy about the line you think the Dutch home port would been the default guess not.

Another I found interesting is " The Event Pass " the free ship is a " Free Ship !!!" strange most of the time but not all the ship is in the doubloon section, this also has me thinking bad omens  about this ship.

We shall see

Were you using the Christmas Port (like I was) last patch? IIRC, the Phillipines is the standard “default” port that is automatically selected when an event port is removed, the game is freshly installed, etc. I found it a bit strange that Rotterdam wasn’t automatically selected, but I assumed WG’s spaghetti code simply got confused. :classic_laugh:

This isn’t strange at all.

US BBs was the first EA event after the introduction of the battle pass, and Nebraska was placed at the end of the paid track. This was a departure from the precedent of being able to get at least one ship in EA, and it was not received well. The devs apparently listened to player feedback, because every tech tree release since then has had at least one EA ship available for free in some manner (sometimes directly from the free pass, sometimes for tokens), in line with previous events.

We’ve had two lines released since that started with a tier VIII ship, and both VIII Yumihari and VIII Iparanga could be obtained for free during their EA events (tokens and free track rewards, respectively). This was in line with the releases of similar lines before the “pass” system (Kansas and Cherbourg were awarded from combat mission chains, for example).

Maybe they figured that these are "Colonial" cruisers and the Philippines is the closest they can get to the Dutch East Indies?

WG must not have enough money to make an Indonesian port. Perhaps, it's time to refer to them as 'War Failing' 😁
