Flagship Operations (remember to spam fires this round)

They're great fun but be sure, as said, to set fires and burn the little sheets to the waterline.

Get ready to hard carry though, you'd think they would be a guaranteed win every time but I've had only one. Look what I had to do to get it.

Fear not though, I opened a ticket and demanded that all XPees and silvers earned be removed from the other participating players and transferred to meeee.

Seriously though it is a fun challenge with much goodies to be earned. Just bring fire spammers.

No fire spammers for me. I'll handle em with a man's ammo choice.

Well that could work but they bots fear fire this round. Perhaps soon they will fear steel.

Whats the advantage of playing these over the regular ops?

Seems good for grinding the Dockyard missions.

Had one so far, the Eternal Frontier with one big enemy flagship, Maine with something like 260k+ hps. I don't know if that made a lot of difference, but we lost too many ships too soon. The repair circle is also a little too small for several high tier (9/10) ships... That one failed.

As far as I’m concerned, the best feature of these “flagship” operations is that Assymetric Battles are still running concurrently. I have no desire to deal with the frustration as WG attempts to balance the latest gimmick.

I wonder why WG introduced Flagship Ops when A-sym is also available?
Why should i play FO instead of A-sym?

Did i miss something?

/me is confused as always

My guess is that having some "Boss Bots" was requested a number of times over the past few years.
WG/WOWs seems to be introducing them as an experiment, to see if they're worth having on special occasions or as a regular feature.
Personally, I'm curious to try.  🙂

The downside is that there are currently four PvE modes available for tiers 9 and 10.

Well that is better than only one Scenario which lasts for a week.  😉

Well... keep an eye on the queue times, though.

Which is a good thing. The more choices, the better. And it suggests Wargaming is more inclined now to cater to PVE. The idea, I think, is that these PVE modes other than Co-op will help develop and sharpen skills of new players, especially those that recently got their shiny new Schlieffens last month in the Voyage to the North Pole event.

I still think it would be better if the MM would allow you to optionally queue up for more than one game mode, at least when you were ready to play any of the available ones.

That might worsen their spaghetti code. LOL

Yeah, there's always that worry, true.

Like all Operations, either you get seasoned... or tuned in pros or... those guys.

I got the seasoned / tuned in (like they knew already what to expect...) pros in my first match. I got "those guys" in the second and third...

I'll just try to play it like I normally play ops. Not relying on team but trying to do as much as I can to secure a "win".

Right now, from what I can tell, they've softened it a bit. Problem is the "seasoned" guys know this and go agro. "Those guys" sit back and let others tank for them until they're the last ship alive, then go agro.... Same old same ohhhhh....

I tried them last night. First I though yeah, I need a HE spammer and picked Thunderer. Ended up with a very meh result, completely outdone by the usualy secondary boats and fast reload cruisers.

Then took out my Navarin and farmed 1.4 mil credits without breaking a sweat. So really, nothing to see here. Just ops with better rewards, no need to do anything differently. Guess HE-spamming cruisers are slightly more effective than before. In the end I appreciate it as I get more credits and XP for pretty much the same work, but there is no need to change anything from normal ops.

This week is highlighting HR spammers... it's based on the OP bot ship's specialty.

There is an AP specialty OP bot & a torp specialty OP bot coming in the next 2 weeks (not sure which week will highlight which one)...

Then the 4th week will have all 3 at once...

IOW...next 2 weeks your HE spammers will be less effective.

I know that, my point is that the flagships specialty is kinda inconsequential in the end, just taking the normal OP op ships works perfectly fine and in fact better than taking a dedicated HE ship which didn't do any better than it would in a normal operation.

I strongly suspect the same will be true for the other iterations.

Can't say I like the high tier ops and the flagship ones are less interesting. Boring "bring the right ship or else" modes. Not much of interest in this game at the moment.
