kriegerfaust Posted January 2 Posted January 2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-class_cruiser https://naval-encyclopedia.com/ww1/uk/british-c-class-cruisers.php The Coventry and Curlew of the Ceres are like nothing in the game having unique strengths and weaknesses of their own. A modified C-class like the Caledon modified to function as an AA cruiser. With ten weak four-inch gun like early cruisers she instead has her main armament in turrets. Unlike other c-class ships she no torpedoes and two more guns than the Curacoa cruiser another member of the ceres sub-class. Armed with ten or eight turreted four-inch guns mounted either on the center or sides you have a decent field of fire. The ship could fall at tier 3 or 4 depending on how effective the main guns are made having good and bad points. Light guns among the smallest for a main armament that few have smaller. the gun has many newer guns that serving as an AA ship would have a quick rate of fire. Given the number and placement of many, rate of fire and angle they are capable of the ship could rain fore on cruiser and destroyers. I would love to see either the Coventry or Curlew added and maybe the Curacoa but their low level makes that almost impossible. The Curocoa refit is even better than the Coventary mounting less guns but in twin mounts but again lacks the heavy guns and torpedoes of other early cruisers. i could see them at tier 4 or 5 but i am bat at this this ship looks like a twisted gun boat destroyer but who can tell. A pretty tight ship that looks li9ke it would be perfect if the front aa quad mount was replaced by a fifth twin four-inch mount. The two ships i would like to see in game i referenced where i found the two picks which i needed to show as i am bad at describing them. https://srcmbc.org.uk/2017/01/27/hms-curacoa/
