SoshiSone Posted January 1 Posted January 1 So, I logged in today and found a bunch of crates to open. I opened all of them at once. One returned a golden container. I'm not following the gift boxes this year so have no clue as to what gives what and the associated probabilities. I opened the gift box and got this...so how did I do? 5

Tread_Head57 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 It’s considered a good boat. Think Gouden Leeuw that trades some airstrike capability for bigger guns. Congrats.

Taylor3006 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I got one from a crate too. It is fine, comfortable to play and seems sturdy enough. Not a fan of the whole airstrike mechanic since it just seems really stupid, but as a gunboat, it is pretty good. My only problem with the Dutch stuff is all so uninteresting and bland. 2

Actually the Prins van Oranje trades for smaller guns that are more accurate. And also because those smaller guns it no longer falls into the super heavy cruiser category. Meaning it has regular duration cruiser fires instead of 60s like the Gouden Leeuw. 1

If anyone’s played Van Speijk, PvO is basically the t10 version of it. A main gun focused cruiser with better dispersion (and no battlecruiser fires) with a single super long reload airstrike. Pugilistic Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Ive only played it a little, but it looks pretty solid (as cruisers go) and capable.

Now if only WG applied the same logic to Haarlem (203mm guns) and Johan de Witt (240mm guns)… Both are saddled with large cruiser dispersion and 60s burn times, unlike every other cruiser with the same size guns. The dev’s rigid design philosophy (that a line’s traits need to be finalized by tier VIII) has done them both a severe disservice.
Dareios Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Its not rare. just current lootbox and steel gated. rare would be if you dropped the golden version, which is exactly the same functionally, but about 10000 times less likely to drop unless you owned all the other boats in the box,
Aethervox Posted January 6 Posted January 6 A free T10 ship is worth something. One can always sell it 😁.
