I lose these matches most of the time. Position your Submarine so that it can fire-upon targets as they sail through a choke-point. If your team-mates are particularly good at aiming-for and sinking the lead-ship in a pack of red-team ships, then aim for the second or third ship in the pack. Manage your dive-time. Seriously. In some Asymmetric maps, there is only one Base per team. Other maps offer 3 capture areas. The one base per team maps are easier for a Submarine to play with. The 'Bots instinctively "know" where a Submarine is. They just cannot fire upon it until they can officially detect the submarine. Plan accordingly. Try to avoid being over-run by a push from the red-team. They'll force you to exhaust your dive-time and surface within detection range and send a lot of ordnance "to whom it may concern" in your general direction. I lose these matches most of the time. A submarine is always a bad thing for the other players in the match, as it is one less ship the bots will shoot at. Same for (Torp/Smoke)DDs and CVs. Sometimes there are matches where there are only two visible ships, then it is vary hard for those. The more invisible ships on your team, the more defensively you have to play as a visible ship. In those cases you should always have an island near you behind which you can hide. 1

With respect, that's not a tip for how to play a submarine. That's a gripe from someone who isn't playing a submarine. 🙂 As for the "invisible" claim? Stealthy torpedo-bote DD's are playing well when they aren't detected and are causing damage. Isn't that undetected status while causing damage methodology also good for playing a sumbarine? And of course stealth boats can work, but they do make it harder for non-stealth boats. (and a lot of sub players I see know nothing at all about how to play it and either die early or don't do any damage and are even more dead weight that a bad player in any other class) When we are in a division for asyms, we either go no stealth boat, or all stealth boats. Otherwise we are just making it harder for the non-stealth guy. 3

LOL... well I saw ONE asymmetric game-submariner that contributed but the rest have been pretty poor. Like DDs, you can get folks that spot and torp magnificently or the ones who decide to use guns (pings for the sub) and smoke for themselves... that doesn't usually work out well in asymmetric either. The word is out on asymmetric for this mission set... absolutely polluted with BBs that don't quite "get" it. Longish queues too for BBs! Edited January 15 by Arcus_Aesopi stuff 1
