Upgrade slot discounts prompted questions

So, with the discount currently running for filling upgrade slots, I was sifting through sone ships, and I noticed my Gato has slots 2 and 5 empty.

So, submariners , slot 2:

sonar Mod 2 (higher ping velocity) or DamCon3 (fire and flood danage diwn5%)?

And for slot 5:

Which if those three?

And if you could, a lirttle of the “why,” as well?

Unfortunately this won’t work for Gato, as it is a steel ship. For anyone else looking for help with tech tree subs, if you right click on the ship a menu comes up…press “sell”. You’re welcome.
