Dont have it but from its stats is a Lyon that has better concealment and secondaries.

My take is that HE spamming Lyon is playable when up tiered, but not something I’d do frequently. And for T7 ranked, I already have a bunch of ships, but I might get tempted by the extra certificates at the end.

Today is the second day of the patch on NA, so if I’ve done my math right later today will be the earliest most players will get the ship (2 days of daily rewards are at minimum needed to reach the proper stage).

That being said, I’m skeptical she will be anything to write home about. Her AP penetration is nerfed from Lyon, and while she has useable (MA/German CC/CV) secondary dispersion, the guns have 22mm stock penetration. IFHE will improve this, but the fire chance nerf will be a tough pill to swallow, especially when up-tiered. Tier VII is also an awkward place in general for secondary BBs - they lack both the 10km+ range achievable on tier VIII+ ships and  typically lack the concealment to make good use of them (especially considering secondary builds require sacrificing survivability). Lugdunum does have slightly better concealment than Prinz Heinrich, but I still question if that is enough to make playing a secondary build more comfortable when not top tier.

Running SCBM1 is also going to really hurt her main battery performance. She uses the EU/French/Italian BB dispersion curve, so passing on ASM1 will be quite noticeable. Then again, she still has 16 guns, so the guns may end up still feeling reasonably consistent.

To give some visual illustration on the extent of the balance:

AP performance, Cyan-original Lyon (modern AP shells from the interwar years), Green-Derfflinger (World War I vintage AP), Grey-Oklahoma (the most infamous "anemic AP that comes to my mind") and Dark Blue-Lugdunum.

In short, that's basically Oklahoma's defective AP.

Despite a slightly lower Sigma value, with ASM1 (the mandatory build for a vast majority of battleships) OG Lyon (black) would still have better dispersion (however marginally better) than secondaries build Lugdunum (magenta).

I saw two in Coop battles this early morning and neither had notable performances, but again this was nowhere near a statistically valid sample.

There's often quite a bit of luck, taking any non-fast BB into Coop - if you get the 'wrong' map and/or team composition, everything will be over before you can have much impact...

I mean, I bought the Event Pass as well, because it’s a bonus tier VII premium on top of everything else in the track.

Not yet.  I haven't quite progressed that far in the Event Pass.

While she is probably going to be a turd in PvP, I plan on having some serious fun with her in PvE. The pen nerf, while significant and crippling against same and higher tier BBs, is not THAT noticeable against cruisers and lower tier BBs, and the package of 16 guns with improved reload time and sigma (I use sec mod even on normal Lyon and it is pretty good in PvE) plus what amounts to WV'44 secondaries (they are better than the german BB ones) should make her one of the if not the best tier7 battleships for ops and asymmetrics.

It's nice to have everyone's opinions and reviews derived from their experiences with the ship.

Personally, I'm more interested in the steel of the Event Pass than I am interested in the Lugdunum.
I already have the Lyon, and I'm not a fan of her turret arrangement.  (Fine for kiting, but poor for pursuit.)

I’m not interested in the LugNutUm either.

The whole “chapter” will be a non-starter for me. Holiday activities: going to be unavailable to play at all for seven days minimum, maybe as many as nine days.

And with projects around the house to boot, I figure to be coming up short in a big way on this pass.

I’d rather put my 3500 doubloons into mega boxes than into the LugNut. When I get my 50 doubloons from the daily armory gift, and 200 ranked dubs, it becomes 3750 for three boxes.

I just got her have not played a game yet though. Have to say it was quite easy the dockyard stages have also been quite easy to complete. Finished stage four as well thats early for me. I am however obsessed with the christmas port so I have been playing at least 7 games each day instead of my usual 3. I have always been obsessed with Christmas decorations.
