PSA: Remember Battle Event Chapter Changes - NOW

Recommended Posts

Posted

PSA: The first Chapter of the Event Pass changes soon, in about 20 mins on ASIA, probably overnight on EU and NA. As far as I know, or can guess, if you want to unlock the extra rewards on Chapter 1, you have to do it now.

UPDATE: Chapter 1 is now inaccessible on ASIA and NA. Chapter 2 is available. EU will follow in 7 hours.

That would have been last night for NA, it has already swapped over with the daily reset over eight hours ago for NA.

Thanks, I forgot how NA does it one day earlier.

EU still has about 7 hours or so left on Chapter 1.

Yup. NA updates a day early (Wednesday) to allow the EU (formerly European Russia) based devs to troubleshoot the process during their working day before it goes live to the rest of the servers on Thursday.

Yep. I still grabbed Teng She because it’s a cheap t7 for a low price plus the rest of the items, but Lugdunum is the one I’d pick first of the two.

For me Teng She seemed like the more interesting of the two, and I also needed a Pan-Asian BB more than a French one.

Indeed, Sinop is a very strong T7 BB, and a Sinop with better accuray at long range and unlimited DCP could even be OP...

I feel I should correct you here and point out that the Lugdunum is considered a European BB. That said I too find the Teng She to be the more interesting of the two. Sure the current pass offering has a five seconds improved reload on the main guns and higher accuracy secondaries... but it still has the glacial turret traverse and bad armor near the nose where I'd question trying to really brawl with it.

Ah... it's in the Pan-European line, didn't know that, thanks for the correction. The glacial turret traverse sounds like an issue, one that probably isn't going to be as easy to fix as taking off the permanent camo....

It has better concealment and better secondaries than the original Lyon...

I remember it being described as 'secondaries focused', but is the poorer turret traverse WG's 'humorous' way of trying to balance out those improvements?

It has the same turret traverse as Lyon.

Oh, so it's really like an improved version then?

Remind me how things used to be with Wargaming, definitely in WoT, but I also seem to remember that premium ships were supposed to be not better, but slightly worse than their tech tree counterparts. Though, TBH, I seem to remember some premiums having better torpedo arcs for one thing, so maybe I'm just 'misremembering'.

This has been an early WoT thing, but never a WoWs one. But I think even in WoT it has changed.

Basically yes, but I still question brawling in a ship with no torpedoes and a 50+ second base turret traverse. Its armor scheme is also full of shell traps and a few other questionable features that are potentially a critical weakness in close. Brawling in this thing is more along the lines of Bismarck, punishing people for shoving into you while maintaining some degree of distance. Otherwise, bad things happen.

The secondaries are probably pretty good against destroyers that get spotted around you, but its not going to amount to much against certain other battleships. And with IFHE being basically mandatory when trying to make full use of the secondaries its one of those ships that is happy punching down but will have issues punching up.

Thanks, I'll send the memo to my Misremembering Department.

HE and AP DPM are slightly worse.

I already have, I think, 2 Pan-European BB's so I don't think this one will tickle my fancy.

The AP shell performance has been pretty badly nerfed. It was compared to Oklahoma’s in another thread, which isn’t a bad take.

I’m not sure I’d advocate for IFHE considering how bad the AP shell penetration is. In a lot of situations firing HE will be the best option, and the 50% nerf to main battery fire chance will be very keenly felt. 16-shell salvos means she will still likely light a good amount of fires, but it seems a shame to sacrifice a the ability to almost guarantee 1-2 fires every 25s to boost 9.5km secondaries…

All the Lugdunum related discussions should be in that thread instead of this one. This one's gone a bit off anyway by this time. Locking this thread.
