Utt_Bugglier Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) I went to the “Exterior” tab to mount the fireworks destruction effect on my GC, and then left it there to see the 2nd half of a movie with my family. When I came back about 90 minutes later, it was still at the exterior tab viewing the ship, but in the channel was a parade of small light cargo vessels & maybe fishing trawlers in “dress ship” state red lights strung in the masting and booms, white lights along the gunwhales. Smaller vessels, motored under the bridge you can see when you look “over the left shoulder” of your selected ship. Didn’t think to grab a screenshot. It went on for some five minutes longer after I sat down, and hasn’t reappeared in the 15 or so minutes since. No, I haven’t collected all the Christmas ornaments or any other notable thing to trigger some effects. Has anyone else seen this? Edited December 18, 2024 by Utt_Bugglier 5
Utt_Bugglier Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 Wait… it’s coming up on the horizon again…will screenshot.
Utt_Bugglier Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) Appears to be about a half-hour rotation. 25 minutes from when one parade/flotilla ends until the next starts, last about five minutes. Heeeere they come: Here they are: There they go: Edited December 18, 2024 by Utt_Bugglier 5 1
Snargfargle Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I watched for ten minutes and didn't see them. I guess I need to watch for a bit longer.
Snargfargle Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I saw them! They travel very slowly up the river. They first appear as a faint suggestion of light far off on the horizon. Nice little Easter Egg catch. 1
tm63au Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I don't know what parade you guys are getting but the parade I can see in port is this one Spoiler I must be in the wrong Port 3 3

Banwydragon Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Having spotted them the other day I set about tracking them. You have to watch for a long time (but it is a nice port to sit in whilst drinking coffee), but as they disappear in they disappear between the mountains behind the normal viewing area of the port they reappear in the distance beyond the fireworks launching area. The whole port is glorious, except for the duplicate tree decorations. 4

Frostbow Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I first saw them when the Star Trek event was still open. I didn't give it much thought at first, but I realized it is something special because it takes at least 10 minutes for the parade to complete a cycle. Wargaming really made this port truly beautiful. Below you can see them circle again (top left). 4
Wolfswetpaws Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I saw the conga-line of ships before finding this topic. I supposed it was a feature of the Nordlyshavn port. I think it's a "nice touch". The Art-Department wins again. 🙂 4

Utt_Bugglier Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 Note that the leading and trailing boats differ from the ones in between.
Admiral_Karasu Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Seen them! It didn't actually take that long for them to show up, like only a few minutes.

Yeah, my “25 minutes gone, 5 minutes passing by” was pretty much focused on then the string of boats is right there. If you look toward the horizon, it looks like you could see their impending arrival a good bit earlier. 1

Mono_De_Mantequilla Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 This was nice. I saw the ten boats sailing up around the bend, past my ship and under the bridge. Cute little distraction. 2
WildWind84 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 It is like convoy ships delivering Christmas crate 🙂 Cool and nice 🙂 1
Utt_Bugglier Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) I took the trouble to watch a complete cycle, and observed that once they show up in a session, they’re always visible: if you pivot and follow them until the last boat disappears waaaay, waaaaaaay up the river into the fjord, then pivot the camera view immediately back to where they first showed up, the first five boats of the parade have already reappeared at the horizon. You have just debunked the "flat mappers."
