tm63au Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 (edited) Just been going through the motions with the festive seasons events then tonight for some reason I decided to have a closer look at this helicopter survey ship they have everywhere and read its profile ! After reading its bio about a mystery Battleship and two fortune hunters i started to sit up and get interested. Could this mystery Battleship be this ship sitting anchored beside our ocean adventurer survey ship? If it is now that I look closer at it, the ship seems to resemble a French Battleship ? Please tell me this is not not MN Normandie or Lyon as it will be very disappointing. Amazing how in a blink of an eye things dramatically change on closer inspection. For the record I like both ships but have them both. however it may take the wind out of my sails if its either of these ships. Edited December 14, 2024 by tm63au 1
desmo_2 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I assume this is the ship being highlighted in the story that accompanies the holiday Advent calendar. 1
Kynami Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 From what has been said elsewhere, the 2nd Christmas season event pass features a secondary focused variant of the Lyon. 3
KJ82 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I think the first ship is a Pan Asian Sinop. 2

Has possibilities to be interesting in my humble opinion, still another copy and paste, where are these famous ship drafts and blueprints this mob seem to able to find in some dust and mildew infested cupboard in the Kremlin canteen that seem to find there way to the designer department at WG. Strange no new French BB designs. regards Edited December 14, 2024 by tm63au 1

With better dispersion at long range, a Bungo-flavoured spotter, and - unlike the real Sinop - infinite recharges on the damage control party (i.e. she has a standard DCP). IMHO she fixes most of Sinop's weaknesses. 2

I had a look at the image in OP, it looks likely then that the other ship is a similarly uptiered Lyon. What would be interesting to know is what kind of stat changes WG has given that ship. Apparently, if we only want one, we can't wait and see, sadly.

You might be getting confused with Picardie as compared to Lyon. But Lugdunum, the Euro Lyon, is T7 like her French cousin. Edited December 14, 2024 by Ensign Cthulhu 1 1

Then Teng She is definitely the better ship of the two in my book despite whatever else got changed in the process. However, isn't this now a problem because Lyon is tier 6 (right?....), and it would be a little strange if part 2 were to have a ship one tier lower than part 1, IMO.

From the original dev blog, it’s described as a secondary/close quarters focused battleship, for as good as t7 secondary builds really are. 1

You can always compare them in the game (with one of the tech tree mods) or on shiptool or shipbuilder. Lugdunum has a bit more than a kilometer less range than upgraded Lyon, with a faster reload and slightly better sigma but lower shell damage and a bit less fire chance. Same secondary range, but Lugdunum has a faster reload and uses the same improved dispersion as the US secondary BBs. Identical maneuverability, asw defenses, health, and armor (iirc from when I checked it during testing), but Lugdunum has slightly better concealment. 1

I believe that google has their own agenda, and that agenda may skew the search results for a variety of reasons. Of course, it is your choice to use whichever search-engine you prefer (according to your criteria). 🙂 1
