That is still true, however they always had the exception that you could get research points from dockyards. That does no longer seem to be a thing, but so now they put them in Golden Containers. I don't see the problem here.

If their 8-9 years behavior of constantly saying one thing and doing the complete opposite isn't a problem for you that's on you mate.

I got some RP from white crate. It's fine I guess? There's no legmod I want now, tho, and the upcoming Nevskymod seems trash. 

Like it'd be intresting to put legmod on Hållåld and play it as a gunboat, but I don't want to spend cxp to respec (an isssue with all legmods I could possibly want) and I don't enjoy the boat enough for it anyway. 

Anyway, I'm fine with steel/rp from crates. Like a bot account can grind the steel for a ship in rankeds. Not a symbol of high achievement are any ships.

Malta did 1000 crates and got enough research points for just over 1 Ohio. Doesn't sound excessive.

Took me 3yrs to get Ohio. Not wasting RP on crates that if they drop a ship most likely will give me something I don't want.

I mean...it only takes four regrinds or so to get Ohio, between the x2 bonus and the FXP you get along the way. 3 years seems a bit excessive.

Maybe I'm weird, but I figure that people should be able to spend their money on stuff they want to spend their money on. It is, after all, their money not mine...

I think that if you have all of the ships, extra steel and RB points are less useful - because you have all the ships already!

I think that if you have all of the ships, extra steel and RB points are less useful - because you have all the ships already!

But it does let you take a break and not fall behind on content.

The Golden crates are unnecessary "hype", IMO.  I did get Chikuma II out of one, which is one of the WG's anointed super-hype premium ships (and I don't like this new trend).  A couple of the others have contained RB points which I think should just come out of the regular Mega crates.  Most have contained red boosters.  The same number of red boosters that a Mega crate can drop.  So, open a Mega, get a shiny Golden crate!  OOOOHhhhh!!!!  Open THAT crate to get the same red boosters I could have gotten without the false hype and extra step.  That's my take.

I have to totally agree with you on this I really dont like it. With that being said there is tons of really good stuff going on this Christmas so I really wasn't going to harp on it. Now I am not saying you but some people no matter how good things are seem to just want to find and highlight something bad. 

As I have said before all in all WG has been pretty generous and done some really fun things for Christmas this year while still getting a lot of us to spend some money. I have really been enjoing the game these past few weeks and especially love the return of asymmetrical battles. 

Eleven days till Christmas I love it it's a magical time of the year enjoy the holidays.
