Frostbow Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Star Trek: Queen's Rage is by far the best PVE mode I have played. Lots of customizations to choose from Lots of talents that can be activated Lots of bots to destroy Bots have the lethal ability to one-shot your ship Bots have multiple spawn points Each wave have their own 'boss', e.g., Queen's Minion, before the Mother Superior arrives Orbital bombardment forces the player to move, negating island camping Orbital bombardment forces the player to be judicious in the use of shields Shields of ships can be regenerated Queen Borg is tough and deadly Ship camos are very nice Map environment is vibrant and the color palette is pleasing Sound FX are top notch Best of all, there is none of that 50% reduction of Base XP! Space Battles and Raid of the Filth were amazing PVE modes, but Star Trek: Queen's Rage turns it all up to 11. There is a lot going on, from Shields, Hull, Artillery, Phaser Weapons, to how to and when to best use your shields. The sheer amount of variety from just four (4) ships makes for a totally fun experience although it can be daunting to those who may not be able to keep up. I can understand why some Co-op players despise this mode, because this is really not the usual relaxed kiddie mode. I think we will see some mechanics and weapons in this mode in future developments. The ballistic path of pulse weapons can be the basis for ship to ship missiles. All in all, I have been thoroughly enjoying Star Trek event. Even when I was still learning the ins and outs of it, there was no shortage of fast, fun, furious, and rewarding PVE experience. Here are some screenshots I have collected from the past few days of playing. 5 1
Frostbow Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 Along the way, I made at least 1,000,000 damage playing the T'Pau. It is a bit of a challenge because the DD and the cruiser can easily rack up a million faster than the BB. But when it happens... 3
Wolfswetpaws Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Glad you're having fun with the mode @Frostbow. 🙂 1
Itwastuesday Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 It's ok, like these modes usually are. My favourite was the bastard mode with monsters. It was so funny. 1
Asym Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Oh my, Star Trek in a WW2 Naval game should sound all sorts of "DANGER Will Robinson, DANGER" claxtons. It's a hard pass with everyone I know in this game..... 1

It is fun tho and now that Ive finished my santa crate grind I can get back to having fun in this mode. Shortly, it'll be fun in asymetric 🙂 I never thought I'd say it but its more fun playing vs bots than it is playing WITH people, some of whom are really pushing the envelope of bad in the wrong direction. 3
Leo_Apollo11 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 HI all, But the teams... the teams... I find so many time all alone vs. the Queen in the end... 😞 Leo "Apollo11" 2

Yedwy Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 No, IMHO its not even close but as the proverb goes - de gustibus…

It's a hard pass with everyone I know in this game..... I guess we are long past that point. There have been plenty of special modes, far more than I can recall (top of mind, Raid of Filth and that Rubber Ducky event). At this point in time, I don't mind Wargaming making something new out of the core concept. That's what they must do or the game will stagnate and falter. The entire Star Trek Operation is not for everyone. It is infinitely more dynamic than Co-op and the usual Operations, and it can be challenging if one does not pay attention to what is going on. I know, the first time I played Queen's Rage, I hilariously thought the green beams from the sky will recharge my ship's health! LOL Yet the mode is unique and as I have enumerated at the beginning of this thread, there is simply a lot of ways one can enjoy it—including secondaries that reach out to 20 km! LOL I've seen a lot of players share on Discord their experiences and scores, and that's what led me to check, try, and eventually enjoy the mode. 3

Around this time of the year, there are far more laid back casuals that just want to try something new while getting their snowflakes done. 1

I primarily play Enterprise and while I can rack up the damage it excels at knocking out full shields in one pass. This allows for the rest of my team to do the heavy hitting without wasting their firepower on whittling away at shields. Of course, the bomber can take out 110k or so in one hit but its a bit of a waste on a shielded ship or one thats getting rapidly chewed up.
