Weekend Spree - 6th to 8th December 2024

Picked up the Tier 6 Montcalm in a small santa crate plus some doubloons to give me just enough for Paid Battle Pass Part 2 when it drops.

Played a lot of American Standard battleship on my stream on Saturday, in remembrance of the Pearl Harbour attack.

Reset the IJN gunboat line (don't worry, I cleared their flakes first!!!).

Spent A LOT of credits to buy the ships whose modules the IJN destroyers were holding in trust (I had bought them when half price!!). Played with the Elbing a lot in PTS, decided I had to pick her up as well (I'd had her researched for quite some time). Did a bit of shuffling around of the ships I'm grinding to better suit my long-term goals.

Down to 70 million credits. I try not to fall below 100M in case a heavy spend is necessary, but this is one of those cases.

Played a fair amount of World of Warships.

Posted in various forum topics, including some creative writing in "If Our Captains Could Talk ... again."
https://www.devstrike.net/topic/40-if-our-captains-could-talk-again/

Got accidentally mistaken for a member of DevStrike's Staff.
No judgement, and no names.  🙂
Bottom line?
I took it as a compliment and helped someone to contact an actual member of the staff to get the situation taken-care of.  🙂

Skipped doing my Naval Battles, this weekend.

Am contemplating welcoming some more ships to my Port.  I've made a shopping list.  But haven't finalized my decisions, yet.

Babysat our Ferrets.
They're still loveable, though they're not getting younger.

Weekends are short.
Goodnight.

Was AFK from my desktop for half the weekend so only played today. Played 9/10 of my NBs which was just for position in the group. I got 6Ws & 3Ls playing low tier ships to earn single *s - few in my clan play DDs, it seems, so I played a bunch of baby DDs (which are fun to play, btw & so 'cute' looking, lol).

It's interesting what you see in low tiers these days - a lot of Bots, of course. As to players, you see some definite Seal Clubbers (I suppose I'm in that category, although my WR doesn't say that) and some new players and some players who don't really have very good WRs at all. You see some players with a lot of battles played, some only playing in the low tiers. Still, there is the challenge of sinking the enemy human players first because this is where you earn the the W or get the L .

Had three concerts this weekend, so my game time was definitely reduced (as is the case most days this month). Most of my time was spent playing test ships, although I did get a bit of progress on tech tree grinds and snowflake rewards. Played a couple rounds of the Star Trek mode yesterday and actually had some decent teams for once, so I should be able to get the last couple of stars needed there between tomorrow evening and Tuesday.

I "finished" my flake grind today, getting more than enough bonus rewards to cover the remaining ships in my port plus any ships I might be getting in the next month. Haven't claimed them yet, may do that tomorrow or Tuesday.

I have taken up herding cats.  That is to say, some in my clan are interested in clan battles.  Organizing players is ... well, like getting cats to do what you want. XD

One naval battle (a participation effort !)

Had a black powder match Saturday and won the Novelty match and then had to head home (an injury while I was shooting and trip to the doctor !)  Darn perfect day, and I would have won at least two of the three matches !!!  But, all is well, and winning the novelty match was a lot of fun !  BTW, there is nothing better than shooting a rotting hedge apple with a muzzle loader........it's just sooooo coooool as they explode, violently in chunks....lime green pieces go everywhere......  Hollywood special effects could learn from that !   BTW, a few years ago, during the Zombie craze, we paid the local kids a quarter a hedge apple that we placed behind the head of a E-type plastic target - so that, when you had a head shot (as you all know,  that is the only way to put down a zombie) you couldn't miss the lime green explosion !

Played Ops at night and everything else is done till Wednesday or whenever they restart the grind.

That is all.

I did have one amusing musical moment. Was taking the New York out to work on a campaign mission which specified it, among others. Usually I play Frank Sinatra's New York, New York while playing the ship, but for some reason I chose Taylor Swift's Welcome to New York this time around (having a teenage daughter will do this to you).

Bot ship rounds the corner.

Song: "Welcome to New York, it's been waiting for you..."

Bot dies. 😎 😈
