Steel Fleet event: Anybody else considering any steel camo(s)?

Hi all,

The ships in the Steel Fleet leave me pretty cold, but some of those camos pique my interest. Particularly the "Bourgogne: War Paint" camo and - a bit less - the "Stalingrad: War Paint" camo. I've noticed those camos ever since I saw Potato Quality (the CC) play those ships equipped with those camos.

Admittedly, they're horrendously expensive at 6000 steel each, but I might splurge for at least one of them.

Anybody else having steel camo fever? If so, which one(s) are on your radar?

They really look nice, but 6000 steel is too much. Maybe if you constantly play one ship.

I like Shikishima both camos, but I play Yamato more then Shiki.

Stalingrad war camo looks nice also. But Stalin felt put of CB rotation ships so its also not much playable ship.

Bourgogne Rhino camo looks nice.

But I wont get any of them, since they are not ships I play often.

I would like a Bungo dragon camo, that I would buy for sure.

I don't accumulate steel fast enough or in large enough quantities to exchange steel for camouflages.
My steel is intended only for ships, at the moment.

No.  Not even slightly interested.  A hard pass.

Pretty things with no utility other than to be pretty have no place in my inventory, unfortunately I can't sell the ones that WG bestow on me and I certainly am not buying them for 6000 steel.

I have no interest in exchanging 6000 steel for a camo. WG consistently over-values these camos since they broke off the economic bonuses. They should be available through mission chains or the free track of the battle pass to keep players playing...not as paid rewards/doubloons/resources.

Nope. I am not wasting Steel on a camo. I might have done it back when perma camos had bonuses and actually did something but even then, they were so expensive that I probably would have passed as well. I would balk at 2K Steel for a camo never mind 6K, 10K, etc...

I have all 3 of those Dragon camos and really like them (Tsurugi is the best looking IMHO) BUT I would not have used Steel for them as good as they look.

Only time that WG ALMOST made me open my wallet hahah, Bungo camo is sick.

Got Tsurugi from first bundle and camo so I said that will be enough. I hope they make Bungo camo avaliable again

With the changes to bonuses and whatnot, camos have zero utility and no value.  Wargaming really screwed the pooch with the camo rework. The prices they want in money or resources for a vanity item is just absurd. Baking the dispersion bonus onto the ship was one of the stupidest decisions they ever made.

The only way I would spend steel on a camo if it came with the (now) old fashioned built-in bonuses, for example, a full permanent set of Red Booster equivalent.

I don't miss the somewhat obligatory camo era, when people went crazy if you showed up naked for battle, but I understand the point your making. These are now purely cosmetic items, at best they could be selling them as bonus content for boosters. Wasn't the steel camo price before the camo re-work 10k steel? That means, the booster part was worth only 4k, the rest was for the cosmetics.

Are some of the priciest cosmetic brands creating these cosmetic items for WG?

No chance: when they used to have better than average bonuses associated with them, maybe, but since they're now pure aesthetics, hard no.

Absolutely, they look too good to miss. If they would cost less steel, I would buy almost all.

Last time I bought: Ice Wyrm Shikishima, Dragon Ship Ragnar, Bourgogne War Paint. Took me a while to pick, but these looks the best IMO

This time considering to pick one of Stalingrad camos and maybe that goofy Incomparable Ahead of the Future

I don't have one at the moment because I got the two camos for Stalingrad when the offer was first made.

12,000 steel looks prohibitively expensive, but I thoroughly enjoy playing the Stalingrad (the cruiser helped me progress a lot, fast, to get that Elite Emblem).

Moreover, steel can be earned from Ranked Battles. They are also given to players for free in the free version of the Battle Pass. Even without paying for the Dockyard, there's steel for free.

I considered getting one for Bourgogne but I was not that pleased with the design elements, so I decided to get another one for the Stalingrad instead.

Are these steel camos already linked to ships or we can link them to other T10?

They are linked to specific ships.

They are pretty, but you can't sleep with it, so NO.

Some are really nice, War Paint for Bourgogne and Victorious for Stalingrad are my favorites, but they are just too expensive, 6.000 steel is almost one third of a steel ship when you use the 25% off coupon, so hard pass for me.

Some of those camos used to have substantially enhanced econ bonuses attached to them, and if that were still the case I might have been able to justify the steel. As things are, though - no.
