Álvaro de Bazán?

Hello shipmates! I'm stockpiling my coal and looking at Álvaro de Bazán as my purchase. Why? I landed on the Spanish cruiser line when I spun up this account and it's been good to me so far, I have every tech tree ship from 1 to 10, and splurged on Almirante Oquendo and Canarias. I enjoy the ship speed which seems higher than average, and the flatter arcs and faster shell speed of the guns. I missed out on Victoria, sadly, so no Spanish battleship for me, but this destroyer is available and part of my gremlin mind is a completionist.

That said, the reviews do not paint Álvaro de Bazán in a good light. She seems to be a lackluster gunboat with better options available. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to give me your opinion on whether I should go ahead and get this Spanish DD or save my coal for something else.

• In my playtime, I've learned that I don't care for BBs much. They move slowly, react slowly, burn often.
• Not a CV enjoyer.
• Subs are neat but U-69 is as far as I'll go.
• I like being able to knock planes down.
• I've worked the British DD line up to Lightning and that's the first British DD I've enjoyed.

With her speed, gun range, detection radius and wide turning-circle, the X Álvaro de Bazán  seems to be a "gunboat" DD, to me, at first glance.

I don't have the X Álvaro de Bazán  in my Port, yet.  So, I don't have experience playing her.

Given her parameters, I imagine a player could have some interesting games, with plenty of "oh my gosh we're gonna die!" moments.  🙂 
But, perhaps that is only my imagination.  🙂

I just got Alvaro, have only played 4 battles but I like it.

It's A. Regolo without the crawling smoke and SAP, but has 6.2 conceal and a long speed boost.

The funny button is good for finishing something off real quick, I hate it otherwise.

It's a good ship, like it  - your Black is also fine - maybe Hardcore 80% player prefer Marceau - give it a go!
