Is WG a bit Container Crazy this season?

I play one Borg game and I get this:

The Event Pass is extremely heavily front-loaded this patch. I just unlocked the new PA premium tier VII BB, which is at level 10, this morning, the 2nd day of the event.

I despise this Star Trek event (I don't know why; it should be the sort of thing I would normally love), but maybe it's worth giving it one shot if this is what happens?

Mostly More Signals and Rare Boosters, judging from the Reward Track panel. But I found you get enough XP in these battles to breeze through many other combat missions and collect the goodies from there as well.

I think that I got a few of every type of signal, and some eco and XP boosters. I must have been close enough to several event completions where one game this morning rolled me over in all of them.

I would think it had anything to do with the Staff Trek event. My first game this path was an Operations game and it pushed me several levels up in the Event Pass.

I played it once in PTS, realized that it was an operation in a sci-fi skin rather than a free-for-all like some of the swimmy-monster events, and bailed at that point.

I spent doubloons for the paid-track of the Event Pass.
After one or two battles, had a similar 22 containers reward.
Collected and added my daily container and opened them all at once.  Was a pleasant experience.

I kind of liked the swimming monsters scenarios, the rewards the first time were quite high. And also good creditwise, I reached all the bundles (w ecosignals) a couple of skins and huge credits amounts.
