I had a dream the other night I was heading into a busy place to play a series of chess matches. I looked forward to the contests and, win or lose, I knew that a good game is a good game after all.

In the midst of play inside, with this mounting feeling of unease and dread, I came to realize I was in fact in a casino playing against robot competitors. This dawned on me after 22 consecutive losses and then I figured out that the robots were all controlled by some sort of Deep Blue electronic brain that ensured wins were few and far between. On attempting to leave I discovered that the chips I purchased to play, at considerable expense and didn't use, were non-refundable. I was also belittled for thinking about leaving.

I woke up in a panic as I hate losing and being paranoid, as well as feeling trapped... but my cat was curled up beside me purring which reassured me and brought me back to reality. I laughed thinking, "it was all a dream thank God!".

Nothing more than a fantasy you'd see chess in a house controlled Bot casino. No wonder you lost 22X in a row. You go to casinos? Why those other details? 🤨

Well I didn't know it was a casino going in did I? The sign said ARMORY. 😉

Les Misérables is, length notwithstanding, one of the books you should read in your lifetime. It's really good. I've read it twice and plan to do so at least once again before I die.

Me, I'm lazy. I'll just watch the movie that the book is based on.

At least watch the musical which is wonderful, especially the 25th Anniversary production.
