For those who thought GATO wasent enough broken/OP/Unbalanced. WG PROUDLY presents ..... Archerfish!

Why not go further and slap a funny button/CI and Heals on it .... AND Battery consumables .....AAAAAND Speed Boost....! So like 47-ish knot speed on surface and periscope.... because WW2 was famous for their Ferrari Subs...

So were talking a Kleber Submarine that you will never see ...... with homing torps ........

And the CI activates after 2 torp hits ......!!!

Add the fact that you can slot Halsey on it for free for some extra buffs ........ like IF you needed it ....

Also ...

And the schills will say 'why not' it's just an arcade game.

So is Donkey Kong.

At its heart WOWS was an attempt at a reasonable simulation on WWII naval combat. But it has lost its way. Yes they need to make money but there are better ways then chipping away at the soul of the game.

Specialized ammunition is  on the way to be followed by flying battleships and commander Kong.

It never has been a simulation. It’s an arcade shooter.

Yup, they effectively Nuking their own game update after update. They could have made so much more money on other stuff and still kept this game somewhat decent instead of the shitshow it become. Its a dying game at this point.

In his latest video Jingles made a great point. EVERYTHING that has been implemented into the game has always been "tested" in Halloween events and such. Stuff like Submarines and homing torps for example. This year we had homing Photon Surface to surface missiles on our Star Trek ships, so we can definitely be sure we soon get that armament in the game as well.

So good luck trying to dodge homing missiles in the air sent from a ship you will never see during the game!

I guess its a response to all those players struggling at landing bombstrikes in Dutch cruisers. Now it will be a braindead addition like most other stuff lately.

The photon torpedoes leaned on the acoustic homing ping mechanic. This is nothing new under the sun.

If Archerfish is really that good, then having her as a permanent addition to the Armory is going to undercut Gato sales - although once the cost of the steel event skin is factored out, Archerfish might still end up being a couple thousand steel more expensive (not saying it won't be worth it). When that happens, someone who's into subs is going to have to do a detailed compare-contrast. If Archerfish comes out the unequivocal winner, we might see Gato disappear as Somers did.

It was my impression that the photon-torpedoes in the Star Trek event mode were recycled from past Big Hunt / Key Battles events.
WG/WOWs only needed to re-skin their visuals, from what I could discern.

Looks fun but stupidly expensive. Probably will go from 36k steel down to 28k steel.

Be patient Archerfish.  I need to accumulate more steel.  🙂

I simply can't wait for the Shinano rage. Did you all know it can launch mini subs? These mini subs have the guided missiles that they have been testing in the event. They are also controllable and have an immunity to ASW consumable. AA also slows its aircraft down by 5kts only, no damage done.

The dev blogs, patch notes and actual in game stats haven't mentioned all this for some reason, but they exist.

@Wolfswetpawsare you going to get Shinano or Archerfish first?

Hmmm.
First, I'd like to find sources to corroborate your claims about the Shinano.  🙂
As for which I'll welcome to my Port first?  That depends upon how soon I can acquire the necessary payment commodities.
Eventually, I'd like to add both of them to my Fleet, though.

Well, you sound like a single player game that’s an actual simulation would more your speed. Check out steam. They have lots of single player games so you can play as bad as you want and won’t effect others who want to win.

What has any of this thread to do with winning. It's about subs that can do 43 knots when tricked out. It's about trying to keep a semblance of historical authenticity to the game. The reason people groan about this paper warships is we all know where it leads.

Flying Battleships!!!🤡
