Hagostaeldmann's kurfurst playstyle

I'm posting this because I thought it's too funny and true.

TLDW : Battleships players are too greedy to shoot priority targets over the cool damage numbers on the Kurfurst. So you build a silly tankbuild with even consumables enhancements and just let your big fat broadside be shot. I tried it, because I'm always willing to try silly kruppstahl things. And what goes on is that yes, they will shoot you even if there's a pile of cruisers right next to you open water.

and then when I play a dd, enemy BB is shooting me from 25+km range but BBs in my team dont shoot a dd at ranges less then 10km

ah...

TBH I find that not many people shoot at the DD at all. Not me or the enemy. The only thing that matters is which DD wins the knifefight by themselves.

Smart tanking for the team in a BB is one of the most under-appreciated and under-rated skill sets in the game.

Sometimes it's a matter of which enemy ship requires less turret rotation to aim at, but yes, targeting DDs -even if they're well within torpedo attack range- is... let's say "below their dignity" in some players' minds. Even as a DD main (hence knowing well how much of an impact they have) I'm not completely immune to the disease when playing other classes.

Back on topic, it certainly looks like a quite valid and useful build for the KM biggies, albeit maybe too subtle in its performance to be properly noticed. You won't consistently get the juicy big numbers -save potential damage- that show up as BXP in the post-battle results and people seek, nor will your team-mates be thankful of all the diverted and soaked shells. There's one thing that BBs unfortunately lost access to which would've made it the ultimate bait build: Survivability Expert. If you're going to play the fool, better do it Claudius' style (highly recommended miniseries, BTW). I don't think I could, at least not without having certain scene from Tropic Thunder playing in the background as a reminder.

Not quite, don't expose your broadside. I was in a battle today where I'm on my Sov Soyuz & it was amazing all these Red team guys who wanted to drop me as their personal 'pinata'. I survived & meanwhile, my team dropped them one by one. There is something to be said for being the 'pinata' so long as your HPs hold out, lol. 😁
