Tricericon Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/576 Biggest game changer seems to be the unique Dutch commander. I like the addition of more historical commanders. 2 1
Admiral_Karasu Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Some of the commanders look quite nice, indeed. While... some rather decidedly do not..... 🙄 2

Wargaming refusing to add Beatty until the detonation mechanic was removed and giving him enhanced skills that don't really synergize with British battlecruisers at all is amazing historical commentary, made even better by almost certainly being unintentional. In a broader sense, adding Hipper and Beatty with the "von Jutland" and "Dunkirk" skill sets means there's a chance "less experienced" players might finally get a shot at the "Ovechkin" skill set via some future historical American (Spruance?) and Russian commanders. I see that as positive. Conrad Helfrich didn't have a great war record but is the logical choice for a unique Dutch commander. He has my attention since I'm closing in on Golden Lion. Schaft... meh. She's a historical figure but not one that had anything to do with the RNN. Feels like a rather odd choice. This wave of fantasy commanders doesn't interest me at all. 1 1
tfcas119 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Helfrich looks decent for dutch cruisers. Easily pop the damage buffs, but getting the Airstrike and Witherer buffs may be difficult

Even the EU stream WG guys were saying "IF this makes it to live...", intimating that it would be very easy to run into an overpower condition if activating him as he stood was trivial.
