I would not worry too much. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I cannot play the Vermont to save my life. Any other BB works fine for me. The Vermont and I just have issues.

The torps don't have great launch angles, but I like them. Detectability is pretty good at 5.7 km, and the short-burst smoke is good. You also have heals. So for me, this is by far not the most frustrating ship out there...

Poor torp arcs are a problem on a lot of ships, particularly some otherwise good cruisers. Can't really use them to attack, the only safe way is to launch them when you are running away.

Sometimes certain ships just don’t work for certain players. Jutland (of which Somme is a clone) is generally well-regarded among tier IX DDs. I recall when Somme was first made available there was surprise that WG was making a premium version of Jutland so easily obtainable.

Yes, you look at your record from some ships & you plant your palm onto your face & think 'really' or am I that 'bad' on it?

Then you see some ships where you appear to be (or are) a 'unicum' player.

Go figure, eh? 😁

 I Bougainville ???

Thank you for giving me a chuckle of laughter.  Better luck sailing her in the future.  🙂

Everyone tends to get at least one Cursed ship; Jutland - for instance - is one of mine, even though she's pretty decent by all accounts.

I haven't played my Somme enough against real people to know if said Curse transfers between clones...

Jutland/Somme ought to be excellent, provided you can make use of what they're good at. Ought to be.

You should take that as a challenge!

I noticed that I had pretty bad stats in all the low tier French cruisers from when I first started back in 2017.  So I reset the line (my first!) to have a reason to revisit those ships and bring them out of the red.  Now back up to Algerie, sometimes playing these mid-tier cruisers can be frustrating!

1? .... just 1??? C'mon, aleksi111, 1 battle is nothing - you must have run out & got plastered right away.

For me, the Bougainville is a beast. I was surprised how many Ws I got with that T1. (I random the tier I play so T1s can still get played, once in a while)

As a  IJN main, grinding the BB line, the Amagi was my cross to be hung on.  We were playing Randoms back then and I almost quit the game....  For what ever reason, that ship and I simply couldn't work together.

Now, a team mate is grinding the IJN BB line and the Izumo is his cross.......  OMG, it is killing him in Operations.

The most frustrating to use ship?  For me, as an IJN main, the light cruisers - from Omono to Yodo.....that I play all of the time in Operations and ASB's !!!  They're what I call an "almost there" ship that is "this c .. l .. o .. s .. e"  to being a monster(s)...  Sigh.

I think my frustration in WoWS comes more from the abysmal MM one sees & these consequent losses that aren't really your fault but are from players that Wedgie has to place on your team instead of the other.

I had to parse my EU profile list to find the ship (with, at least, 100 random battles) that I do worse on than any other, the winner = Algerie 😒.

Seattle. I absolutely LOATHE that ship. Hated it when I was grinding through it for the Worcester, still hate it years later, lol.

Somme is one of the better ships in game.  It is identical to Jutland, I had 65% WR in Jutland and I have 68% WR in Somme.  These are very solid ships, you get high acceleration and maneuverability in general with hydro and low detect, which already makes you nimble and hard to hit with torps around key objectives.  It is very important when you compare it with bigger and less maneuverable ships without hydro and poor conceal like Gdansk and Khaba, which will be at disadvantage trying to contest important areas of the map if no other dd is around.  It also has get out of jail free card with frequent use smoke, which is awesome, turrets that rotate all the way around, and torpedoes you can launch single file.  Given it's set of tools, it can easily outgun any ship that can outspot it, and disengage from any ship that can outgun it (yes, with your detect and maneuverability you can still get away from radar DDs before they can kill you).  You have to watch out for certain long rage hydro DDs that can murder you if you try to get too close to them smocked up to use your short range hydro, but other than that you are very hard to deal with.

Many tech tree T9 cruisers are at disadvantage due to how MM works in general, and presence of strong premium super cruisers.  I mean having Alaska or Kronshtadt in place of Seattle on the other team is pretty clear advantage.

I guess I'm a weirdo, since I enjoyed Seattle. Of course I mostly played it in convoy mode, where it's excellent at picking up (and picking off) enemy DD's, and can hide behind a rock near the "end zone" if your mission is to sink the convoy and lob shells into the escorts with near impunity.

Not the most interesting play, but it was effective.

Jutland / Somme are similar: IIRC in the T8/9 CB's we occasionally used a Jutland to kite the "weak" flank with a Radar cruiser to good effect. no one wants to push into a gunboat with hard hitting single fire torps 🙂

For me, it's the Nelson...

I have a 30% win rate in 47 battles. Too slow to get into position to make her guns count...too vulnerable to play like the Colorado class.

55% WR. 141 battles.

As long as you have understood that you have to angle like an IJN croiser, she's OK. Means you have to show your a**s, which is definitely possible since turret angles are good enough.
And her ablity to arson anything floating is mesmerizing. I mean : really, this  "thing" is a flame-thrower.

Oh, I know how to use it...I'm usually the last person alive trying desperately to carry something after my teammates have all died.

I suspect the problem is my own poor gunnery with its mains.
