Sumseaman Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) Been reading a few posts about battle pass events in the last 12 months. Curious of opinions regarding upcoming and recent premium pass worth. I found the Black Friday event to be worth it at 2500 dubs. The 13.11 events of course cost 3500 each though include a tier 7 premiums instead of 6. Please post thoughts. Don't make me post the ridiculous base xp/credit earnings I've been getting in premium subs to receive the attention I deserve! Edited November 20, 2024 by Sumseaman 2
Nevermore135 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) In regard to the Battle Pass - I passed on the US BB one last February because WG gated what was normally a free grind-able reward (Nebraska, the first ship in a branch that began at tier VIII) behind the paywall. I would say enough other players did the same, because I don’t believe WG has done the same since. I purchased every other Battle Pass before WG retired them last November. I believe I’ve ended up purchasing every Event Pass since the first one last Christmas. If one plays regularly it’s generally a pretty good value, IMO. Of course, I also don’t purchase doubloons at full price, only making a single purchase annually with the birthday coupon. Edited November 19, 2024 by Nevermore135 4

I tend to agree that if I indulge in regular play it's good value for me. 1
Taylor3006 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 The holiday battle passes look fine IMHO and will be buying both. I don't spend any cash on Santa crates, just farm the freebies and since there is a premium ship in both BPs, the 3k doubloons is a decent price and a sure thing (as opposed to the crates). Add to that the free premium tier 5 or 6 from the Dockyard and that is a nice handful of new ships. Anything I pull from the free Santa crates will just be gravy. If they update their Tier 7 and tier 5 Armory crates, I will get two or three new ships from those. Wargaming is always generous around the holidays and I enjoy playing during the event. I always make sure to have enough premium time to boost my earnings until the event is over. 3

Given that we are a week out and nothing has been announced, it looks like WG is not planning on updating the premium ship containers prior to the Christmas event. It’s a bit frustrating because I am sitting on enough community tokens to pick up multiple tier V and VII containers because I’ve already received all the possible drops. I suspect I will get a few (or all) of the new ships in free Santa crates, and WG will update the tier V and VII container lists to include said ships after the event. 3

Same here, and I even have a Tier V crate sitting in my containers list waiting for the list to be updated. I was hoping they'd also get updated, but I was expecting before or around the anniversary, since doing it at Christmas would "intentionally" remove some of the new ships from the Santa crate list. I've got the Tier V crate sitting there and enough tokens to buy two Tier VII crates whenever they finally get updated. But until that happens, I guess I'll just put them into the veteran recruiting crate for the three ships I don't have there and whatever other resources and boosters they give me. 1

So, 7000 Doubloons ($28 USD) vs 6000 ($24 USD). I mean that is still fine considering it is 2X T7 Premium ships + all the Santa crates and such but it is more costly than you believe. Just letting you know. 2 2
Aethervox Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Any upcoming events for 💲 are 0 value for me as I won't participate if I have to give even a penny to the billionaire 👿 owner of WG. 2

Think of it. You can provide heating to the frozen with the coal, sorely needed infrastructure with the steel and you can bring joy to malnourished children by handing out Santas Gift certificates! clammboy Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) I do every upgrade battle pass and will be doing this one as well. Dont really care how much money the owner has. If i went by that logic I would never go see a movie or a concert or buy a car. Edited November 20, 2024 by clammboy 2 4

Did they announce they were removing the community tokens armory page? I was looking around to figure out my next Supercontainer ship drop.

I'm perfectly fine with the free track of both Battle Pass, I will continue not spending for it. Even with the Santa Crates, I am perfectly content with the free stuff. It is not that they don't have value. It's just that I enjoy my tech tree ships more than my premiums. (And I haven't even played many of the premiums I got last year.)
