Weekend Spree - 15-17 November 2024

Did my naval battles and my daily tech-tree progression quotas, streamed.

Cleared out a whole lot of minor missions, picked up a bunch of containers for tokens (some won, some bought with coal), won nice prizes (couple of event permaskins).

With only 15,000 XP to go, decided to get on with it and finish the Pobeda grind; Nakhimov now in port.

Only three grind goals left to finish this year: Orage (61% complete), Udaloi (87%), Ipiranga (83%). The rest of the unfinished business can wait until 2025 kicks off.

I have enough ECXP built up that Auboyneau promoting to 21 points and him getting into the Cassard should happen at about the same time, just after Christmas. Naturally, moving him into the Cassard will come first.

Someone is going to be bathing in tantalising resources come December. I want you to buy that silly hybrid DD just for shits and giggles then take it into ranked.

After working my Naval Battles grid on Saturday, I looked at the missions on my docket.
Given my progress and the time-frames for the expiration of the WOWs missions, I decided to make more progress with one of my Star Trek Online characters.

While playing WOWs or Star Trek Online, I also "Lurked" in @Lord_Zath's Twitch stream, where I saw some forumers, such as @Ensign Cthulhu and @iDuckman and others.  🙂

I decided that my acquisition of Terran technology Reputation System set equipment was going to take a while to grind.
I've got the Deflector Dish and the Impulse Engine.
But, the Singularity Core requires me to grind to a higher tier within the Terran category of the Reputation System, in order to access that technology.
So, I have to earn more "reputation marks" and use them to perform daily research and score the points needed to unlock a higher tier.

A long-term hobby project, for now.

Meanwhile, I was doing some research about Ship Shields in the STO fandom wiki pages.  A couple of shields caught my attention.
They also didn't require reputation grinding.  They could be gained as rewards for completing certain in-game missions.
So, I replayed a mission that I'd done in the past, and gained a Regenerative Crystal Matrix Shield.
For now, I've installed it on the Kestrel Runabout Shuttle that i keep in my primary Starship (a Romulan Malem Class Warbird).

The other shield that interested me, a Resilient type of Shield, was supposedly a reward for completing certain epidodes of the Delta Quadrant story-arc.
But, my character hadn't played more than a few of those episodes, yet.
So, today, I began working my way through the epidodes.

Coincidentally, when I reached the episode involving the "Kobali Front", I found myself immersed among numerous other players on the same map while they were participating as players in the Scenario Operation (for lack of a better nomenclature) aspects of the Kobali Front map.
Interesting that the game server has us performing over-lapping goals simultaneously, while the map programming also handles the A.I. "bot" characters and the story-arc characters at the same time.
For me, that sort of multi-use map experience (with everyone doing their own quests or short-term arena-style actions simultaneously) was a novel experience.
And, yes, it was fun.  🙂

Side note:  I wonder if @Sailor_Moon happened to be nearby at the same time?  (Sunday, evening, between 8 pm and 10pm Eastern Time zone USA).

I still have more story-arc episodes to do.  And that's okay.  I'm not in a particular rush.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend.  🙂

Speaking for myself, I already have the Halford.  🙂

Naval Battles.

Operations at night.

Finished all sorts of mission.

Read and answered a few threads in this forum.

That is all.

I've been playing the Star Trek operation a lot. I spent quite a bit of time grind out upgrades during the first one and then found that I needn't have bothered as the second one gives you the same upgrades fast. In fact, I've now so many Star Trek tokens that I don't know what to do with them. Getting a little bored with the operation now as I've gone through most of the ships and upgrade paths and teams are better so it's almost always four or five stars now.

Doing a lot of computer tech support on a support forum I've been on for fifteen years and have been doing some maintenance on my truck too. I need to clean the garage and set mousetraps before it gets really cold as the mice tend to come in during the winter. From the garage, they can get into the house as they have gnawed a hole somewhere behind my built-in storage shelves, which are too much of a hassle to take apart and block the hole. I bought a Tootsie Roll today to bait the traps. I'm now sitting here eating it myself.

Pretty much just Naval Battles on ASIA for me. Refreshingly, it was about damage this week, so I could do a lot of those in coop for a change.

I played the Grom 15 times in co-op and got the Around the World whittled down to one mission left, Blyscawica 500 main battery hits. Two chains left to work on: Pursuit of the Japanese Navy and La Pampa.  Kuznetsov is now 21 pts.

I finally got my sound systems working for me.  I have a laptop running Vinyl Vibes on YouTube with a bluetooth speaker playing in the background and the game laptop is playing audio through a radio attached to my monitor.  Oh, and I got a haircut.

Confused sound engineer tangled up in cables. Behind him, huge audio subwoofers, connected by the cables to a Commodore 64 computer.

EU NBs.  Our EU clan won a close one versus another EU clan 90 - 84. Five of our clan (the dedicated core, including me) did all of our NBs to get this W. 🙂

There are some Twitch streamers that play both WOWs and STO.
