SoshiSone Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 So...I had a bunch of coal laying around and thought...what to do? So I found Anhalt. Now, I first went online and examined all the community contributors who talked about it, and it seemed it was sort of a mid to long range fire spitter. You see, it's T8 and only has 13.8 inch cannons. Very undergunned for T8, despite having 15 of them. The shells float...a lot. And....it's slow. And...it has a crappy torp belt...and it turns like molasses. And it has not-to-good AA. At first, I tried the mid to long range fire spitter. Even spent some captain juice to get a new captain up to speed. Nope. Not for me. Couldn't do it. So, I stuck my Lutjens (secondary captain) on it and built out a secondary build. Man, talk about a difference. To be sure, I can't play it like Bismarck. But if you take the pros ands cons and work them out, it makes for a very unique and interesting brawler. So far, it's working very nicely for me. We'll see if this keep up. 5
Kynami Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 It does get some absolutely silly torp angles on those underwater launchers that are nearly immune to being knocked out. 2

Daniel_Allan_Clark Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I also got Anhalt...as part of my insistence on owning all coal ships tier 8 or lower... It's interesting...and the torps are fun at least.

Wowzery Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Anhalt will be one of the ships I use when I need main gun hits or fires in a battleship in missions.
Wolfswetpaws Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I welcomed the Anhalt to my Port, this morning. Her first game in a Co-op battle turned-out well enough. 🙂 https://www.devstrike.net/topic/133-warships-collectors-club/?do=findComment&comment=83676 20241111_092913_PGSB528-Anhalt_50_Gold_harbor.wowsreplay 1

But I use my Secondary specced 21-point Lutjens (based on Schlieffen) on her as well - and my second Secondary specced 21-point BB captain (based on Preussen) with slightly different setup than Lutjens! That's the beauty of the "Premium" ship... you can have various setups... 🙂 Leo "Apollo11" 3
tocqueville8 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 (edited) I went main battery & survivability build. Already a couple of 200k games in under 20 battles, mostly spamming HE. Kind of similar to the Tennessee in that respect: stealthy, slow, small but accurate guns. The secondary DPM is much lower than on the other German Tier 8s BBs, plus I feel those torps, with those angles (and immune from incapacitation), are enough to equalize during brawls. Very nice that they added her for coal, and quite cheap, too. Edited November 11, 2024 by tocqueville8 2
