Captain_Rawhide Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Allot of work went into this mode. It's new, interesting and a whole lot of fun. The rewards are pretty nice as well. I'm sure it will get boring after a while, but they all do. Try it out if you haven't. 4 1
Itwastuesday Posted November 1 Posted November 1 It's decent. Funnily enough nobody plays the carrier. I tried it and I get why. When they're not OP, the boring gameplay just doesn't cut it. 1
ReDiR20 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Rewards for the first stage are pretty bad, second stage got some steel and the third (first half of December) grants a lot of steel.

And, as of last night, it became compatible with making progress on the Battle Of Leyte Gulf missions, too. 3 hours ago, Itwastuesday said: It's decent. Funnily enough nobody plays the carrier. I unlocked the Star Trek Enterprise, last night, and played her in a couple of games.

Aethervox Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Out of curiosity, what happens if the Borg assimilate you (win, that is)? 😕

It's more interesting in the game Star Trek Online. There are some episodes involving away-team infiltrations of Borg ships, and the Borg assimilate your character as part of the story-line. I could say more, but, "spoilers". 🙂 1

I got the Enterprise - D last night. While I liked not losing my squadrons, like operations, it's hard to keep track of where your carrier is. I almost got sunk in the end but we won. I think it takes a while to start winning when players finally figure out the mode. For me, I already tried it out in PTS as I mentioned before but it was far easier to get the rewards. Intentional by WG? I think WG hit this out of the "sea"park with the ST mode. It has made the game far more immersive and interesting. Since ST came out, it has been the only mode I've played! 1

Awesome. 🙂 👍 Expand the mini-map and use the autopilot via the "m" key. That should help keep your hull out of trouble, as long as you're paying attention and anticipating the arrival and positioning of the Borg ships. 🙂 The Enterprise hull has sec-bat guns, too, for use in close-quarters actions. 🙂
Snargfargle Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Try all of the ships and also various combinations of modules. Although the scenario is the same each time, the combinations of the ships and modules available are more than you will ever have time to try.
Aethervox Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) Since these ST themed ships are T* or T11, what are the credit costs of doing this/these operation(s)? Also, do the three ST classes (DD, C & BB) play in a different operation? "Any data on this, Data?" 😁 Err, I guess I should have read more carefully ... ^^^ Edited November 1 by Aethervox

Also same op for all, you defend 5 points while trying to blow up as many ships as possible. Edited November 1 by Darlith 1 2

Captain Slattery Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I am also having a good time. It's really helping with Leyte Gulf, the Event Pass and many other missions. No 1/2 value crap either. I'm netting about 300K credits and 6k elite captain's xp per battle.
SureBridge Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I've been running the DD with the third hull module (gives you an "EMP burst" which kills DD's near you) and the SAP guns (third gun choice) upgraded to level 2. Freaking unholy damage dealer as long as you can keep your shields up. Typical games give me 40-60 citadels, 300+k damage with this thing firing 6 SAP shells every second, and cycling torps every 37 seconds. Knock the shields down with SAP and volley fire torps.
Snargfargle Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Got the Phaser SUP-2 upgrade. Good for long-range sniping but very slow to reload.

Snargfargle Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I get a kick out the Klingon commander. He gets a bit hysterical when his ship is on fire, just like some teenage anime schoolgirls did in past events. Also, though you are technically the commander, his snarky use of "sir" means that you better watch your back, just as you should if serving as a commander on any Klingon ship. 1
