Tread_Head57 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I put this on Reddit, but also posting here to see if my math is off. I've purchased the chain bundle in years past because they were actually a good deal. This year's does not seem to follow the deals of previous Black Friday events. For example: Buying the chain out to level 18 costs 5541 DB and you get: 2x Premium BF containers 16x regular BF container 150k credits 8k EXP 3K FXP 4 day premium 12x green boosters 8x blue boosters 2k coal 1x detonation effect For 5600 DB you could buy 5x premium containers, so you are essentially trading 3x premium containers for items 2-10 listed above. Not a great deal IMO. The value is even worse if you go further in the bundle chain. Someone please check my math, but unless I'm proven wrong, I'm very disappointed in the value of this year's BF event. Not to mention the unnecessary bait and switch with the Alaska/JB/Massa. Seems WG knew people were pre-buying doubloons with birthday coupons and decided to double-dip their players rather than the other way around. 6 5

Yeah if Black Boxes have the usual 10-12% or higher ship drop chance and one wants to go for random ship drops they are the way to go

aleksi111 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I believe they refer to the mentioned ships not being available for Doubloons, but direct €/$/£/Etc. Only 1
HogHammer Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 A good rundown on this event can also be found at the link: It's a great analysis by @FlimsyLunchTray of the event, costs, and factors to be aware of. 2 2

Not to mention the unnecessary bait and switch with the Alaska/JB/Massa. Yeah I definitely agree and coincidentally covered this in the video that HogHammer listed above. I did not do specifics on the sequential bundle, but they definitely added more bundles and as a result increased the price. I don't feel that was necessary in my opinion, just another way to make more money. Essentially they had a good thing going from previous years and in good ole WG fashion, found new ways to go in the opposite direction in making it worse. Best Regards, FLT 3

Only Now that is a real 💩move by WG but exactly what I would expect of them. If I had bought dubs ahead of time (like with bday coupon) for one of those ships, I would probably uninstall now and send a parcel full of doggy poo to their offices. Makes me wonder what they will do with Satan Boxes, I used to use my Bday coupon in early december to buy dubs for lots of Mega boxes, maybe those will become real money only as well... JB/Alaska/Massa have, since the start of the Black Friday event, always been available for doubloon purchase. WG knows people use their birthday coupon to save up for this event. The deliberate lack of an announcement in how JB/Alaska/Massa would be sold is an obvious attempt to circumvent those who saved or used discounted doubloon sales. Not a good look and it continues the alienation of the player base. You can shear a sheep multiple times but you can only skin them once. WG's isn't being subtle with their attempts at shrinking the game economy + aggressive monetization. Edited October 30, 2024 by Tread_Head57 1
ReDiR20 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) It;s 3 premium BF containers not 2 in the whole chain. For 10k doubloons we can get Munchen B + 3 BF containers + bunch of less worth stuff. Very decent Edited October 30, 2024 by ReDiR20

Well got myself WH40k SMII yesterday so guess I am skipping another BF event by WG, mvaybe I get a box or two with me spare dubs and what drops drops
Aethervox Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 These continuing sales pitches from Wedgie (whatever Wedgie chooses to call them) are an easy math calculation for me. 0💲 😁
