Do you think the 13.10 event pass is worth it?

With the new update the premium line of the event pass is going for the usual 2500 dubs. It's main selling point is it comes with Dunkerque B and 12 extra of the small black friday containers and 2 extra of the premium black friday containers. I'm looking for some feedback from people who have been doing this for a while, is that a decent ship to get? Tier 6 doesn't often have many game modes besides randoms to play in so I'm a bit skeptical about the value of another mid tier ship. The extra premium containers seem good but only getting 2 with the pass seems low. I have enough extra dubs to get it as well as the ships I've been saving up for for the black friday event but maybe I'm smarter to save it for another point? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Don't you get 1,000 doubloons from a special mission if you have both the regular and black versions of a ship (I have the regular Dunkerque)? For 1,500 doubloons I'd say it's worth it.

IMO, most battle pass have been forgettable and not worth it.

-The one I bought in the past was an error: alt tabbed to windows in order to google ship review while in battle pass screen & didn't know spacebar still registered as 'Enter' input to WoWS. & WG refused to cancel that transaction.

 

As it pertainst to 13.10 and Dunkerque B. I happen to have Dunkerque, meaning I get duplicate ship compensation mission, making the whole 2nd progression line cost only 1,000 doubloons for multiple B-Friday premium and regular containers... I say, it's actually tempting, but I will reserve judgement till tomorrow when we can see the updated Armory and it's B-Friday offers.

If you are going to want Dunk B, or if you would buy premiumblack containers anyway, then yes, probably. 

For me, probably no. The chance of getting black duplicates of ships I already have is too high.

Its all down to what you like but imho the Pass hasn't been worth the dubs since one of the first when you got about a full line reset worth of RB points. For me every Premium except Kamikaze R below T8 is just a port Queen collecting dust.

What I have never gotten since is why WG is giving the best things away in the free line and offer so little good stuff in the payed one, its like they dont want our money?! At least give som 2-3000 Steel extra or something, at least then it would be worth the money.

For a new player (who is building their fleet and has few premium ships) the Event Pass is an inexpensive method for getting the Dunkerque-B.

I missed last year's Black Friday (also partially the previous one, and how things worked 3 years ago may not be a proper way of going about it), so my question is how do the duplicates' missions activate. I mean, the Dunkerque B in the second progress line technically isn't a drop from containers, so there might not be an associated compensation mission, hence no discount on the battle pass.

P.S.: Nevermind, I read the actual article and it's specified (thankfully) that the compensation mission is included even if Dunkerque B comes from the second progress line.

No, you get 1500 doubloons, leaving the net outlay at 1000.

That having been said, “worth it” is up for debate. A net outlay of 1000 doubloons for a copy of a ship I already have, and hoops to jump through to reduce the outlay to 1000 doubloons, isn’t everyone’s idea of a bargain.

The ability to use ships and captains again immediately after sinking eliminates the direct benefit of a copy of a ship.

One remaining benefit is the indirect benefit of extra rewards come “snowflake” & “anniversary flake” time. And the rewards for a single T6, on average, will entail a long payback time, needing a number of drops to be equal to 1000 doubloons.

The other potential benefit is it removes the “Dee B” from a future container drop. There are so many T5-7 ships I lack, that eliminating one ship from the drop pool does nothing to turn some future T5-7 SC drop into a Rare ship drop on a re-roll.

On the other hand, my doubloon trajectory has me barely projected to get in the front door of the next dockyard, if I hang on to what I have and farm Ranked and monthly rewards, etc. Jettisoning 1000 doubloons potentially risks that goal for me.

So, for my own circumstance, it’s not worth it - for me.

My opinion might change once I see when the other BF things in the pass can be earned. This build overlaps with the start of the holiday season, and I expect to be away from the game for a week late in this build.

Someone who has a hole that can be filled by only a Dunkerque, (including completists) can get a nice bargain by picking up its clone for only 2500 doubloons.

B ships do not block the drop chance for the standard ship. When they offered the Dunkerque B in the mission chain (that Mainz now has), I bought her outright and then I pulled the vanilla Dunk from a Santa crate that same year. It should block B ship duplicates, though.

Dunkerque B have already, so....  About ship - for me it is ok ship and actually I like play him when I decide to go in lower tiers.

The Dunkerque/Dunkerque-B are Tier-6 ships.
I'm not going to lose sleep over Tier-6 games.  🙂 
And the ships aren't bad, in my opinion.  I like them.

My interpretation of the wording would be that you and I would get the 4+ million credits compensation for getting the Dunkerque-B from the event pass.
I doubt we would get the "mission" that rewards 1,500 doubloons.  (There is a strong chance we've already done that mission, in the past, eh?)

True on the chance we've already done the missions. However, WG could give us the mission and get my 1K dubs (after mission), or be stingy and get 0.

Naww, that part was about there being far too many T5-T7 ships still left for me to obtain, for me to begin thinking about buying any, in order to chase more chances at rare ship drops.

I went in for the Plain ol’ Dunkerque in the sequential Black Friday bundles last year, because it was cheap.

Ironically, the presence of Dunkerque in my port now is what diminishes my interest in pursuing a B version of it.

My recommendation would be, to wait until one opened some crates and is close to finish the event pass, coz IF you get D-B from a crate ..... then one would get only the compensation, 4 mil credits.

That's what l've done with the previous pass. I've got a quite hefty amount of dubs, during the Anniversary event, so ... it wasn't a problem .
