MidnightPhoenix07 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Christmas dev blogs finally posted today. Two part event pass, the same rewards as last year’s flakes with the new bonus system from this year’s anniversary. No more Santa’s big crates (just normal and mega), and a chance of a crate inside your crate. But it looks like it’s still a decent reward if you get the crate-ception — 10% chance of Chikuma II/Prins van Oranje/Hoffman and a tiny chance of the Gold versions (or up to 10% if you already have the regular versions), or boosters, rp, or steel. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/568 https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/571 8
aleksi111 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 "Our Holiday celebration would not be complete without some Festive Rewards to earn! We got overwhelmingly positive feedback for the quality of life improvements we applied to this feature for our 9th anniversary - so our Update 13.11 Festive Rewards will work the same way, the only difference is our themed New Year rewards!" 1 1 1

Ensign Cthulhu Posted October 29 Posted October 29 (edited) So I have run my figures: As things stand, excluding any Santa gift certificates I get after completing the event pass, I will get 12,500 steel, 166,000 coal and 60 certificates (= exactly 12 mega Santa containers). Finishing grinds for and buying as many extra tech tree ships as I could afford just to have X extra tier Y ships will make no significant difference in any of the categories for any of the potential rewards it could get me. It will not nudge me over the top for a steel ship. It will not get me any extra Mega santa boxes (that might change with extra certificates). I have so much coal I don't know how to spend it. So I don't have to sweat and break myself over the month of November. This is good to know now. You should all go run your figures and see where YOU stand and what YOU might need to do to get something you want. Edited October 29 by Ensign Cthulhu 2
UnderTheRadarAgain Posted October 29 Posted October 29 It's looking really good to me. I don't mind the removal of the big crate, as I hardly ever bought them, apart from 2019. The removal of expendable (and ugly) camo's is a HUGE improvement over last year, and replacing them with a extra gift crate that is filled with very delectable stuff is just amazing. The event passes, both stages, both free and paid tracks, look to be extra good too. My wallet will open. 1
Jagerbomb_2021 Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I can't remember, but does the clan bonus apply to steel and coal? I'm going to compute my anticipated haul.

I'm going to compute my anticipated haul. There are Clan-Base structures which can be built, to enhance coal and steel earnings by a percentage. The percentage will depend upon how many of the revenue enhancing structures have been built. Edited to add: https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Naval_Base Quote Coal Port The Coal Port gives clan members up to a +10% bonus on coal received as an award. When a member receives Coal in a Daily Container, he will see the bonus Coal in the Notification tab in the bottom far right of the Port screen. Building Oil cost Effect Coal Port, Expansion 1 4,000 +5% Coal received. Coal Port, Expansion 2 20,000 +2% Coal received. Coal Port, Expansion 3 100,000 +3% Coal received. Steel Port The Steel Port gives clan members up to a +10% bonus on Steel received as an award. Building Oil cost Effect Steel Port, Expansion 1 60,000 +5% Steel received. Steel Port, Expansion 2 90,000 +2% Steel received. Steel Port, Expansion 3 120,000 +3% Steel received. Edited October 29 by Wolfswetpaws

I already know about the clan structures and the various levels of bonuses associated with them, but does the bonus apply to the coal and steel received from dusting off snowflakes? I know about getting bonuses from various containers. My memory isn't quite what it used to be so I can't remember from past snowflake events.

I don't remember last year's snowflake behavior well enough to be certain of how the Coal Port and Steel Port affect the incoming coal or steel. I know that the Coal Port and Steel Port structures do provide bonus coal or steel when a player opens containers which provide those resources or when the Event Pass provides such resources as a reward for reaching a given stage of the pass. Hope that helps. Unless someone can provide us the answer, then we will see for ourselves in the not too distant future.

ShasoDan Posted November 6 Posted November 6 The amount of benefits depending on the number of ships you have? That is not beginner friendly. So I could get something like 3.500 coal? I do receive more throught the current event pass. I guess I will be playing WoT over the holidays. More rewards, more fun as I can decorate my christmas tree.

Loads of freebies, vehicles, tank commanders, and crates that gave you your money back in gold. Was always fun. Heck I had over 20k gold when I uninstalled the game. The Christmas event in Ships is pretty nice too though. The rewards here are designed to give you incentive to build up your fleet and it rewards long term players. They have always been quite generous too so I wouldn't be so quick to knock it. 1

What I did when I saw the rewards the players with large fleets accrued in the anniversary and xmas events, was get inspired to enlarge my own fleet. I never once looked at it and feel hard done by, I did not complain, I did not go play other games. I concentrated on getting more ships so I too can reap those bountiful rewards. I had less than 50 ships back then. I have 724 ships now. I get all the loot. 5
