Keyman
For Co-Op i'd prefer DD's and cruisers a la Kleber or Salem any time, BB's can work, but mostly 1 DD kills a whole flank and there aren't any enemies left for you. If you play these Hybrids gun-only, there is also nothing special.
MidnightPhoenix07
At least Komissar could still work (unless you get a DD that knows how to yolo torp the entire flank). But they're not going to be optimal picks, and co-op doesn't work well with their unique gimmicks, sort of like how carriers are also less effective in co-op. All three have enough speed to get to the bots before they're all killed, but their longer main battery reload doesn't really fit the DPS meta of co-op. Komissar's torps at least have enough of a forward firing angle that the can be used for more damage. Hildebrand doesn't have torps at all, and Chikuma's typical IJN cruiser angles are nearly useless in most co-op games. All three of them are built around randoms and ranked (and other longer battle duration modes) where they have more time to use their guns, and where the planes can become a viable damage source. Using the planes in co-op is just sacrificing damage while you wait for the planes to launch and attack.
Ghastous
i use the Hildebrand in co op and i always do good in it but if i take a Sub or a DD then i dont do nothing lol. Wish they would bring back asymmetric battles as that mode was great for all kinds of ships but nah we are stuck with co op with tbh is garbage. Ops is ok but ive noticed since introducing T9 and upwards there is more ppl playing it that dont have a clue at all how to play and think its just co op and try and get as much damage as possible then fail the mission and get naf all lol Edited October 27 by Ghastous

Once you know how to operate the boat, then random battles offer higher earnings potential. With a DD in Co-op, it is simple. Charge forward. Engage the opposing DD and sink it with your guns (and hopefully the help of allies' gunfire). Then charge forward again and sink the Cruiser or Battleship (which was behind the red-team DD) with torpedoes. Repeat as necessary. Speed and maneuvering are essential. Stopping anywhere along the way (for example to sit inside a smokescreen) is ill-advised. Unless your hull was heavily damaged and you want your team-mates to become the targets of the 'Bots, then sail forwards (and wiggle to dodge incoming ordnance as necessary). The objective is to cause damage and sink ships. If you're not shooting and moving, then you should be typing witty prose in battle-chat to entertain your team-mates. 🙂 Edited to add: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited October 27 by Wolfswetpaws 3
Keyman
4 DD's and bad maps with starting poins make all other ships more or less useless - like you are afk, your flank is empty, but hey - we have randoms and you can play this hide & seek game or stick 20min in Missions and loose & get the same EXP as in Co-Op. Schlieffen Superstars are mostly ok, too.

But they tend to get reasonably close before using them (within 3 km, approximately, for example). I've already completed the "Spot 90 torpedoes" mission. I was sailing DD's and using the methods I've already written about. Cruisers equipped with torpedes are an alternative option. The "hairpin turn" maneuver (illustrated in the other post) is a method that I really do use. It keeps my ship mostly out of the red-ship's torpedo launching arcs (with a few exceptions, because certain ships have forward-launching torpedoes), and allows me to present my own torpedo launchers to the target. If I can tempt the 'Bot into launching their torpedoes, then I've gained "spotted torpedoes" ribbons. Hopefully I don't mis-judge the timing of my turn, and get sunk in the process. 😉 And the "jousting pass" works well as a method, as long as my DD can survive the secondary-battery gunfire and other hazards. Another, but risky, method is to sail very close to a red-ship and get inside the arming-distance of their torpedoes. When they launch the torpedoes, you'll gain torpedo spotting ribbons. Be careful not to ram them, by accident. And be careful to be close enough that the torpeoes won't arm. Because if the torpedoes do arm, then one's ship will take a lot of damage. 🙂
ency
My opinions about Ops: 1. Light cruisers are the best choice. Those which shoot fastly, like Vallejo. To have such fast guns usually the cruiser should not have other features like radars, torps, smoke. Fast shooting happen with secondaries oriented BBs as well but secondary guns are weak, and happens with DD gunboats but those guns are weak as well compared to a light cruiser. And obviously Cvs and Subs shoot so slowly that those are totally inefficent. 2. Your light cruiser should have the captain skill which shows how many enemies are aiming your ship. I After you get that info you can start to turn left and right etc to make their hitting chances low. Also note that those enemy robots prefer to prioritize a nearest target. So, swim little bit behind your alley ship if the indicator starts to show that many enemies are about to shoot you. 3. Once you make a fire on a target choose a next target. Your goal is to make as many fires as possible. 4. Use your anti-sub bombs to see where enemies are, and additionally it shows to your team where to swim next, sometimes they don't know where to swim. 4. Prioritize shooting DDs. Because they are usualky those who get close to alley robot ships and kill them.

Had it happen way to many times now that I don’t bother with them and just use BB or CV now
