Ramsalot Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 You would think that with all that effort Musashi would get the top XP in ranked game, but no... 1
Kynami Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) To be fair, those ships do tend to get a lot of incidental spotting damage by face tanking. Which stacks on top of whatever BXP from damage they do get. Edit: And also given that it was a mostly T9 game it being a T8 means it got boosted values for being lower tiered than most of what it fought. Edited October 18, 2024 by Kynami Extra clarity on BXP gains. 2
Colonel Potter Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I'd say low tier had something to do with it. You get more XP if you do well against higher tiers. That is the main reason why I could never figure out when people complain about being low tier in a match. 3 1

This is just one example, I could go on. 1

The funny thing is that playing a T6 carrier like the Ark Royal or the Bearn usually can have most t8 DD being the one being angry and getting smashed. It absolutely varies based on ship and what else is in match. But generally light cruisers have it the worst overall simply because they get slapped by anything within range once spotted. 2
Admiral_Karasu Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Ipiranga seems very situational to me. I've only given it a few tries, though, and probably just in operations. It seems to fair rather poorly in conditions where it's exposed to constant fire, and much better in something like Newport where it gets to pick and choose the targets and dictate the rules of engagement. 2
Kruzenstern Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Interesting that on the losing team the Ipiranga is also top. I only tried it once in Operations so far, but there it performed exceptionally well too.
44smok Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Wait for Los Andes. Heard its the strongest of the three.
DoW_ Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Wonderful. LA will be a fun grind in Ops and another tier 10 will be in the port for Christmas rewards.

Her main battery leaves a lot to be desired, being 14” with questionable accuracy and reload in MM where 25mm+ plating is everywhere. 3
pepe_trueno Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 EXP also depends on what you hit, 100k damage done to BBs will give you far less than doing 100k to ships with lower health like cruisers or DDs. as for ipiranga it's a fun bote but outside the rudder and acceleration is nothing special. main guns are garbage, secondary guns are above average but not best in tier and the armor is mega troll sometimes you tank 2 million potential damage and the next match you get deleted by a ship that catches a glimpse of your side. and i was driving an Odin that has terrible penetration. 2

Tpaktop2_1 NA Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I would agree with the OP's statement 1

That extra xp is easily outweighed by being in a weaker ship, which on average gets less stuff done in a match. If you're bottom-tier, especially by 2, you carry with you a smaller portion of your team's hp, gun power, torpedo power, utility, etc., so you have less agency and less "responsibility". That's good for bad players, irrelevant for average players, bad for good players. 3 1 1
mashed68 Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I bet that Ipiranga hit some DD's. Had its feet in a capture point or two. And it was low tier. All good for XP.
