Snargfargle Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I kind of like the grasshopper mouse, myself. Joking aside, my Logitech M500 has worn out to the point it's no longer fixable. I'm currently using a cheap $10 Tecknet I keep as a spare, which is actually an amazingly good mouse for the price, but am considering getting a bona-fide gaming mouse, in the under $50 category. Any suggestions based on mice you actually use? I prefer wired mice so I don't have to worry about batteries. 4
Wowzery Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Currently use a Nulea wired trackball mouse. Its a thumb trackball mouse. Years ago I used a regular mouse for gaming but noticed my wrist starting to hurt. Switched to this type of trackball and haven't had a problem since. I actually prefer it over a regular mouse as I don't have to lift up my mouse at all when playing or have to use my whole hand to do any movement. just a flick of the thumb. 1

It has to be pretty sensitive then?
MidnightPhoenix07 Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I'm currently using a (fairly cheap) Kensington usb mouse borrowed from my audio/music system since the mouse I was using on my gaming system (a Logitech M310) finally died and I haven't had a chance to get a replacement yet. I've used more "complex" mice with multiple extra buttons in the past, but right now a plain two button plus scroll wheel mouse is fine for me. 1
Efros Posted October 15 Posted October 15 UtechSmart Venus Pro RGB Wireless ($39) on my home PC, on my workplace PCs I use Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB mice ($90 when purchased). They are very similar, and I think the much cheaper UtechSmart is actually the better of the two. 2

Has enough buttons for this game and lasts a very long time. 1

Sadly, it's discontinued from production. Kensington, as someone else on this forum mentioned in a different topic, makes some track-ball mouse devices that seem like worthwhile contenders for the role. Edited October 16 by Wolfswetpaws 2
Snargfargle Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 Well, I've decided on a Logitech G203, witch got decent reviews for the price. Looking back at my purchases I notice that my Logitech M500s have lasted seven years each so I assume that this one will be as reliable. I went with a"gaming" model this time as the business model M500 only has 150 Hz polling. I do like the ergonomics of the M500 though. I experienced a bit of sticker shock with gaming mice. Some cost more than my video card did! I went wired because there's no need for batteries. I once had a couple of wireless mice but I got tired of constantly changing batteries. 1

I would really need a new one too. Looking at that picture, though, my 502 has something nice that this one is missing, the thumb rest. 1
Bryan Handy Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) Logitech G602 over here. The laser sensitivity adjustment helps me immensely in stabilising the guns before the shot for increased accuracy. Edited October 17 by Bryan Handy 1
ShasoDan Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I have a Logitech G402. This is essentially the G602 from Bryan with less buttons and wired. For me the sensitivity adjustment was also a must. Every mouse I have ever bought for gaming has gone through a tactility test before I bought it. That is, I tried out how it felt in my hand, how the buttons were arranged and how good they felt. I would recommend that too. The best mouse is nothing if it doesn't feel good in your hand. 2 1

We probably develop a certain mousing "style" and then prefer the mouse type that goes along with it. One is likely no better than another. I had a cousin who wouldn't go near a mouse -- all he'd ever used were trackballs. 2

My style is that I need about 3 cm to move the mouse pointer across the screen from one side to the next. This Logitech mouse seems very well suited for that.
Snargfargle Posted October 24 Author Posted October 24 OK, now that I have a fancy mouse where I can set its DPI, what DPI have you all found the best for WOWS gameplay? Also, do you have any special buttons configured. I only have a couple of side buttons that I could reconfigure. Any suggestions to what to map them too?
Tpaktop2_1 NA Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Currently I have the Corsair Iron Claw. However I want to get the Logitech MX Master 3S for my next mouse. I am tired of wires. So next Black Friday I am getting one. 1

My DPI is set at 2400, I have no idea if this is optimal or not, but I manage everything with that setting, browsing and all games and such. I don't have any special buttons configured (unlike when I was still using my Fang gaming pad with my left hand), never configured anything when it comes to mice.. mouses... (is the plural for a computer mouse the same as for the real one?). I do have a special button which I keep slamming into my keyboard, it has the DPI setting configured to it, by default, I assume. 1
Kruzenstern Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I am an old fart and as such use an old mouse: The good old Logitech MX518. I have it three times: For my workplace at home, my workplace at work and my gaming rig. They are all about 10 years old now and still work like a charm, even though they look quite used. I dread the moment they stop working, because the newer version of the mouse doesn't seem as good as the old one, and I never had a better rodent in my hands. 1

That one made me laugh because, as a mammalogist, I've held hundreds of actual rodents in my hands. The MX518 looks like a fine mouse. Its cost, however, is a bit more than what I want to pay for a mouse. Edited October 24 by Snargfargle 1

I have yet seen anyone post on how any mouse wheels would help in WoWS. I'd imagine they can be programed for something. If you know of any published setup using the mouse wheels, please let us know.

At least, I've seen some youtube video indicate such activity. 1

The one mouse, apparently, that this one gets compared against most is the G502 which is said to be a little heavier. That's the one I've been using, but it's starting to feel worn out, particularly the mouse wheel part of it, that is. 1
