I imagine not all of it is a pre-programmed & timed-sequence based upon calculations. I'm guessing that there is a guidance system that is taking position information in real-time and making adjustments so that the vehicle will remain on the planned flight-path, or will deviate according to a decision process or via commands from ground-control. That said. Yes, it was impressive. 1
