Single command for full salvo firing.

Yeah, I did a search for this sort of topic.

Could I set a dedicated button to fire a salvo without double clicking my mouse button? I tend to ripple but some ships benefit from firing a full salvo.

With a "normal" mouse, the ball is on the bottom and the mouse is moved on a pad.
These are sometimes sensitive to movement when a player double-clicks, and the salvo could be thrown slightly off-target as a consequence.

This is why I use a "track-ball" mouse.

Yep, when you have a quick firing DD or cruiser. I would ripple fire quick firing ships, but sometimes they aren't accurate vs full salvos.

Hmm. I have a laser mouse, though.. pretty sure ball mouse went out of vogue 50 years ago!! I remember the days of having to pop out the ball and clean the.. gross bits out. Might be why. I hadn't considered that one, double clicking could cause movements for sure. I did try out using my space bar but it was counter intuitive.

Not that long ago: around the turn of the millennium. Only then the sensors for optical and laser ones improved just enough to not get lots of false positives (which could send your viewpoint spinning) when slightly separating the mouse from the pad for relocation, something quite common in the limited confines of net cafés. Hardcore players still queued and fought for the computers with ball ones for nearly another half a decade, mainly because they were accustomed to their heaviness (no wonder high-end laser models included the option of adding weights to them early on) and steadiness, while optical and laser were viewed as flimsy, hence relegated to web browsing and IRC users.

Salute.

Love it!! It also made me pick up my mouse to see if that's the case.
